The MAS1823HE delivers high-fire capability in a compact stackable design, making it ideal for studios with limited floor space but demanding ceramics requirements. This energy-efficient model fires to Cone 10 with 3-inch brick insulation and comes standard with the KilnStar digital controller for precise firing control. The stackable 3-section construction allows you to adjust kiln height by adding or removing rings as your work evolves.

Common questions
Do I need an electrician to install this kiln?
Yes. The MAS1823HE requires a dedicated 50-amp, 240V circuit with 6 AWG copper wire. This kiln is hardwired (no plug) and must be installed by a licensed electrician according to local electrical codes. The electrical supply must be single-phase with proper grounding. Installation by anyone other than a qualified electrician may void your warranty and create serious safety hazards.
Does this kiln come with shelves and posts?
No. Kiln furniture is sold separately because different users have different needs based on the work they're firing. We recommend ordering a furniture kit sized for the 17.5″ chamber when you purchase the kiln. A typical starter kit includes 3-4 full shelves, 1-2 half shelves, assorted posts in multiple heights, and stilts for glazed pieces.
Can I add sections to make this kiln taller?
Yes. The stackable design allows you to add middle sections to increase firing chamber depth. When adding sections, you must also recalculate your electrical requirements, as additional elements will increase amperage draw. Consult Olympic Kilns or Peach State Pottery before modifying your kiln configuration to ensure your electrical circuit can handle the increased load.
What's the difference between 208V and 240V operation?
The MAS1823HE can operate on either 208V or 240V single-phase power. At 240V, the kiln draws 41.7 amps and reaches full temperature faster. At 208V (common in commercial buildings), it draws 48.1 amps and heats slightly slower but still reaches Cone 10. Both require a 50-amp breaker. Your electrician will determine which voltage is available in your location.
How do I register my warranty?
Register your kiln at the Olympic Kilns website within 30 days of delivery. You'll need your serial number (located on the control panel label), purchase date, and proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. Warranty registration is required for coverage and must be completed within the 30-day window. Peach State Pottery can assist with registration if needed.
