Discounted Freight Shipping on Kiln Orders

At Peach State Pottery, we believe shipping should be straightforward, transparent, and fairly priced.

Instead of inflating product prices to advertise "free shipping," we offer discounted flat-rate freight shipping based on your kiln's size and your delivery region. This allows us to keep our kiln prices competitive while passing along heavily discounted freight rates negotiated with our shipping partners.

Your shipping cost is calculated at checkout before you complete your purchase—no hidden fees or surprise freight charges later.

Our Flat-Rate Freight Shipping Includes

✓ Standard curbside freight delivery

✓ Residential delivery (when required)

✓ Liftgate service (when required)

✓ Delivery appointment scheduling

✓ Shipment tracking once your order ships

Because we subsidize a portion of freight costs, our flat-rate shipping is often significantly less than standard commercial freight pricing.

When Additional Freight Charges May Apply

While our discounted flat-rate shipping covers the vast majority of deliveries within the contiguous United States, certain situations require custom freight pricing.

These include:

  • Large-capacity or oversized kilns
  • Custom-built equipment
  • Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories
  • Canada and international shipments
  • Islands or ferry-access locations
  • Extremely remote or rural areas
  • Limited-access commercial locations
  • Inside delivery or white-glove service
  • Installation or uncrating services

If your order requires a freight review, we'll contact you before processing your order. You'll never be charged unexpected shipping costs after your purchase.

Shipping for Smaller Items

Accessories, pottery supplies, replacement parts, and smaller equipment typically ship via UPS, FedEx, USPS, or another parcel carrier.

Shipping charges for these items are calculated at checkout based on the size of your order and delivery location.

Why We Don't Advertise "Free Shipping"

Many retailers advertise free shipping by building freight costs directly into their product prices.

We take a different approach.

By separating product pricing from shipping, we're able to:

  • Keep our product prices more competitive.
  • Offer discounted freight rates based on actual shipping costs.
  • Provide transparent pricing before you place your order.
  • Avoid hidden shipping markups built into every purchase.

Our goal is simple: provide fair pricing and complete transparency.

Order Confirmation

After placing your order, you'll receive an order confirmation email confirming we've received your order.

For kiln and equipment orders, we may verify:

  • Voltage
  • Phase
  • Delivery address
  • Freight accessibility
  • Lead time
  • Selected options or upgrades

If we need additional information, we'll contact you before processing your order.

Lead Times

Many kilns and specialty equipment items are built to order or ship directly from the manufacturer.

Lead times vary by manufacturer, model, configuration, and current production schedules.

Any lead time displayed on our website is an estimate and cannot be guaranteed. Manufacturing delays, freight carrier delays, weather, and supply chain disruptions may affect delivery schedules.

If your order is time-sensitive, please contact us before placing your order so we can verify the latest production estimate.

Order Tracking

Once your order ships, you'll receive tracking information by email.

Freight shipments may not update as frequently as standard parcel shipments. Once your shipment reaches the destination terminal, the freight carrier will typically contact you directly to schedule delivery.

Freight Deliveries

Most kilns and large equipment ship by LTL freight carrier.

For freight deliveries:

  • The carrier will contact you to schedule delivery.
  • Someone must be present to inspect and accept the shipment.
  • Delivery is curbside unless additional services have been purchased.
  • Drivers are not responsible for moving, installing, or uncrating your kiln.
  • Liftgate service is included when required for eligible kiln deliveries.

Please ensure your phone number and shipping address are accurate. Storage fees, missed appointment fees, and redelivery charges assessed by the freight carrier are the customer's responsibility.

Delivery Access

Our discounted flat-rate freight program applies to standard, accessible delivery locations within the contiguous United States.

Additional freight charges may apply for:

  • Remote or difficult-to-access locations
  • Steep driveways or restricted truck access
  • Limited-access commercial properties
  • Address changes after shipment
  • Missed delivery appointments
  • Storage or redelivery fees
  • White-glove or inside delivery requests

If you're unsure whether a freight truck can access your property, please contact us before placing your order.

Address Changes

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address, phone number, and email address during checkout.

If your address changes before shipment, contact us immediately.

Once an order has shipped, any rerouting, storage, or carrier fees resulting from an address change are the customer's responsibility.

Delivery Scheduling

Please do not schedule electricians, installers, contractors, or studio openings based on estimated delivery dates.

Freight schedules are controlled by the carrier and may change due to weather, transportation delays, or operational issues.

We'll gladly assist in communicating with the carrier if needed, but we cannot guarantee delivery dates.

Freight Damage Inspection

Please inspect your shipment carefully before signing the delivery receipt.

Before signing:

  • Inspect all packaging.
  • Look for dents, punctures, crushed corners, or visible damage.
  • Take photos before accepting delivery.
  • Note any damage directly on the delivery receipt.

If your shipment has significant visible damage, refuse delivery and write:

"Refused due to freight damage."

Signing for a shipment without noting visible damage may limit your ability to file a freight claim.

Concealed Damage

If concealed damage is discovered after delivery, notify us as soon as possible.

Please provide photos of:

  • The product
  • Packaging materials
  • Pallet or crate
  • Delivery receipt
  • Any visible damage

Please retain all original packaging until your claim has been resolved.

Missed Deliveries, Storage & Redelivery

If a delivery appointment is missed or the freight carrier cannot reach you, any storage, redelivery, or additional carrier charges are the customer's responsibility.

If you'll be unavailable around your expected delivery date, contact us as early as possible so we can help coordinate with the freight carrier.

Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii & International Destinations

We can arrange shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, Canada, and many international destinations.

Because freight costs vary significantly, these orders require a custom shipping quote.

Please contact us before placing your order for pricing and availability.

Our goal is to make your purchasing experience simple, transparent, and stress-free.
