Ships in 12-15 weeks · freight to your door

Olympic Kilns builds most kilns to order once your order is placed, so plan on about 12-15 weeks before it leaves the factory. We email your confirmed ship date and tracking.

  • The freight carrier calls you to book a delivery window.
  • Delivery is curbside with a liftgate. Have a helper or hand truck to move it inside.
  • Check the crate before you sign. Note any damage on the receipt and send us photos.

Enter your ZIP in "See your delivered price" above the Add to cart button to see freight and your delivered total.

Authorized Olympic dealer · full factory warranty

Brand new and shipped direct from Olympic Kilns, so it carries Olympic's full factory warranty. If something goes wrong, call us and we handle the claim with the factory for you.

Warranty terms are in the Warranty and support section below.

Returns: request within 15 days, unused

Because kilns are heavy and often built to order, returns are limited, so we'd rather help you pick the right one up front:

  • Ask within 15 days of purchase or 2 days after delivery, whichever comes first. We issue a return authorization (RA).
  • It must be new, unused (beyond the factory test fire) and in its original packaging.
  • A restocking fee of at least 25% applies, up to 50% on custom, 3-phase or made-to-order units. Return freight is on the buyer unless we made an error.
  • Damaged in transit? Note it on the delivery receipt, send us photos and we'll help with the freight claim.

Not included: kiln shelves and posts (sold separately). Needs a 120V outlet on a 20-amp circuit.

Most 240V kilns need their own circuit and the matching outlet, installed by an electrician. Homes are usually 240V; schools and commercial buildings are often 208V, so pick the voltage that matches your panel.

Send us a photo of your breaker panel or outlet and we'll confirm before your kiln is built: 470-264-3563 (call or text).

Overview

Olympic Kilns · Electric Kiln · Front-Loading Olympic 139FLE Front-Loading Electric Kiln Model 139FLE · 120 Volt · 12.5″ W × 9″ D × 7.75″ H · 0.48 cu ft · Cone 6 / 2250°F The Olympic 139FLE is an ultra-compact front-loading test kiln designed for glaze and clay testing, small production runs, and jewelry firing on standard 120-volt household power. The hinged front door provides easy shelf loading and visibility while the 12.5″ wide by 9″ deep by 7.75″ high chamber accommodates test tiles, small pieces, and sample firings up to Cone 6. This model includes the Bartlett KilnStar digital controller for precise firing control and program storage.

What’s included
The kiln, with its elements installedThe chamber arrives with Olympic's heavy gauge coiled elements already set in the brick and wired to the control panel. Olympic's manual puts this kiln in its ready-to-fire-on-arrival list, so there is nothing to stack or bolt together.
Bartlett KilnStar controller, fitted and wiredThe KilnStar is the standard controller on this kiln and it is installed and wired at the factory. The Genesis touchscreen is a paid upgrade taken at order time, and Olympic's 2026 range no longer offers the RTC-1000, Kiln Sitter, 3-key or V6-CF, so nothing legacy ships here.
One Type K thermocouple and the pilot lightA single Type K thermocouple comes installed and wired to the controller. The control panel also carries a pilot indicator light that comes on whenever the kiln is live. Extra thermocouples only arrive with the 2-zone or 3-zone option, and a Type S is a paid substitution.
The attached standOlympic's studio front loading models come with the stand attached to the cabinet, so the kiln arrives at working height and there is nothing to assemble under it.
Observation plugsHollow ceramic peephole plugs ship with the kiln. Olympic publishes no count for any model, in its manuals or on its site, so we will not print a number here. Ask and we will confirm yours with the factory. Replacements are a stock part.
The operating manual and a two-year warrantyOlympic's printed operating manual travels with the kiln. Olympic's limited warranty runs two years and drops to one year only on Kiln-Sitter models and kilns rated at cone 10. This one is not rated at cone 10, so the full two years apply. Register with Olympic within 30 days of delivery.
A fitted cord and plug, 120VIt runs from an ordinary 120V circuit on a cord and plug fitted at the factory. Olympic's plug configuration row gives NEMA 5-15, 5-20 or L5-30 depending on the model's amperage, so we confirm the exact receptacle with you before the order goes in.
Not included: guillotine lift, furniture and hookupThe guillotine door lift is a paid option on Olympic's studio front loaders, as are the bead door and the quartz viewing window. No kiln furniture ships either, and the VentMaster vent, stilts, gloves, tongs, kiln wash, a pyrometer and all electrical hookup are separate.

Common questions
Can I plug this kiln into a standard household outlet?
Yes. The 139FLE operates on 120 volts and draws 15 amps, and its NEMA 5-15 plug fits a standard household outlet. However, it must be on a dedicated 20-amp circuit with no other appliances or devices sharing that breaker to prevent tripping during firing. Consult a licensed electrician to verify your circuit meets this requirement.
Does this kiln come with shelves and posts?
No. Kiln furniture is not included with the 139FLE and must be purchased separately. We recommend ordering a furniture kit sized specifically for this model, which includes cordierite shelves and alumina posts appropriate for the 12.5″ × 9″ chamber dimensions.
What can I fire in a kiln this size?
The 139FLE is ideal for glaze testing, clay body testing, small jewelry production, enameling work, test tiles, small sculpture, and sample firings. The 12.5″ wide by 9″ deep chamber accommodates multiple test tiles per firing or small finished pieces up to approximately 7″ tall. This is not a production kiln for full-size pottery but excels at testing and small batch work.
How do I register the warranty?
Olympic Kilns requires warranty registration within 30 days of delivery for the one-year limited warranty to be valid. Registration is completed online through the Olympic Kilns website using your serial number and proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. Peach State Pottery will provide all necessary documentation with your kiln shipment.
Can this kiln reach cone 10?
No. The 139FLE is rated to Cone 6 (2250°F) maximum. It is designed for low-fire and mid-range firings including bisque, earthenware, low-fire glazes, and Cone 6 stoneware. For Cone 10 firings, you would need a higher-temperature kiln with heavier elements and insulation.
Not sure if the 139FLE is the right kiln for your space? Our team can help you compare models, verify electrical requirements, and recommend the best setup for your testing or small production needs.
