Olympic 1814HE Electric Kiln
The 1814HE is a compact stackable kiln designed for high-fire ceramics in studios with limited space. At 17.5 inches wide and 13.5 inches tall, it fires to Cone 10 (2350°F) for stoneware and porcelain while drawing under 30 amps on 240V. The stackable design allows you to add sections later to increase chamber height without replacing the entire kiln.

Common questions
Do I need an electrician to install the 1814HE?
Yes. The 1814HE requires a dedicated 240V, 40-amp circuit with 8 AWG wire. A licensed electrician should install the circuit from your breaker panel to the kiln location, either with a NEMA 6-50 receptacle or hardwired connection. This is not a plug-and-play appliance.
Does this kiln come with shelves and posts?
No. Kiln furniture is sold separately because potter needs vary widely based on the work being fired. We recommend purchasing a furniture kit sized for the 1814HE that includes round shelves, posts of various heights, and stilts.
Can I add height to this kiln later?
Yes. The 1814HE is part of Olympic's stackable system. You can purchase additional 9-inch or 13.5-inch ring sections to increase chamber height without replacing the kiln. The controller and stand remain the same; you simply add rings between the base and lid.
How do I register the warranty?
Complete the warranty registration on Olympic Kilns' website within 30 days of delivery. You'll need the kiln serial number (located on the metal nameplate), purchase date, and proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. Registration must be completed for warranty coverage to be valid.
What's the difference between the standard controller and the Genesis upgrade?
The standard KilnStar controller offers 8-segment programming and cone fire modes, which is sufficient for most studio ceramics. The Genesis touchscreen adds Wi-Fi monitoring, unlimited program storage, real-time graphing, and remote notifications—valuable for production studios or if you want to monitor firings from another location.
