Returns: request within 15 days, unused
Because kilns are heavy and often built to order, returns are limited, so we'd rather help you pick the right one up front:
- Ask within 15 days of purchase or 2 days after delivery, whichever comes first. We issue a return authorization (RA).
- It must be new, unused (beyond the factory test fire) and in its original packaging.
- A restocking fee of at least 25% applies, up to 50% on custom, 3-phase or made-to-order units. Return freight is on the buyer unless we made an error.
- Damaged in transit? Note it on the delivery receipt, send us photos and we'll help with the freight claim.
More ways to save · wire, school & military pricing

Overview
HotShot · Kiln Furniture · PostsSquare cordierite posts, sold in sets of four. Read that carefully if you have priced these before — HotShot changed the unit in 2026 from single posts to sets of four, and the listed price doubled while the quantity quadrupled. Per post they are now half what they were.
What is in each option
1" × 2" — set of 4Four posts, 1" square, 2" high.

1" × 3" — set of 4Four posts, 1" square, 3" high.
HS-FRKLN109
1" × 5" — set of 4Four posts, 1" square, 5" high.
HS-FRKLN111
What’s included
Sets of four, not singlesEvery option above is four posts. HotShot's earlier sheet sold these individually at $10, $12 and $15 — if you are comparing to an old quote, compare per post.
Three heights, mix as you needFour posts at one height give you one level. Mixing heights is how you load a chamber properly — the 1200 furniture kit ships all three heights for exactly that reason.
CordieriteTakes weight and holds flat under repeated cycling. Posts are the part you least want to fail mid-firing.
Keep sparesPosts chip at the ends and a chipped post sits unevenly. At these prices a spare set is trivial insurance.

Common questions
How many posts do I need?Four per shelf level, one near each corner. If you are running two levels you need eight, and usually at two different heights.
Is the price per post or per set?Per set of four, on all three sizes. HotShot changed this in 2026.
Will these fit any oven?Posts are not model-specific the way shelves are — what matters is the height you need and the room in the chamber. Ask us if you are working near the chamber height.
Not sure which heights to buyTell us your oven and what you are firing and we will tell you which heights and how many — it is usually fewer than people order.
