Returns: request within 15 days, unused

Because kilns are heavy and often built to order, returns are limited, so we'd rather help you pick the right one up front:

  • Ask within 15 days of purchase or 2 days after delivery, whichever comes first. We issue a return authorization (RA).
  • It must be new, unused (beyond the factory test fire) and in its original packaging.
  • A restocking fee of at least 25% applies, up to 50% on custom, 3-phase or made-to-order units. Return freight is on the buyer unless we made an error.
  • Damaged in transit? Note it on the delivery receipt, send us photos and we'll help with the freight claim.

Will it work in my space? Power check

Not included: blade fixture, loud alarm, tongs, gloves and foil (sold separately). Requires a 240V single-phase circuit (15A, 3600W) with a NEMA 6-20 receptacle.

Most 240V kilns need their own circuit and the matching outlet, installed by an electrician. Homes are usually 240V; schools and commercial buildings are often 208V, so pick the voltage that matches your panel.

Common questions
What's the advantage of the 3-inch firebrick over standard insulation?The 3" Thermal Ceramics firebrick in the KO Series provides a half-inch more insulation than standard 2.5" brick, resulting in faster heat-up times, better heat retention, and lower energy costs. This extra insulation is especially important when heat treating high-mass loads or running back-to-back cycles. The thicker brick also enables the oven to reach and maintain the full 2350°F maximum temperature more efficiently.
Why is the side-opening door design better for heat treating?When you open a drop-down door on a front-loading oven, the super-heated door is directly in your path as you try to remove hot steel for quenching. The KO's side-swing design opens a full 180° to move the door completely out of your way, giving you a clear, safe path to quickly extract your work. This matters most during time-critical quenching operations where seconds count and you need both hands free to handle tongs safely.
Can this oven handle the heat treating requirements for high-alloy tool steels?Yes. The 2350°F maximum temperature covers the austenitizing range for virtually every knife steel you'll encounter, including high-alloy tool steels like CPM-154, S30V, S35VN, and even air-hardening steels like A2 and D2. The special high-temperature element alloy borrowed from ceramic kiln design ensures reliable performance at these extreme temperatures. Most carbon and stainless blade steels require significantly less than 2350°F, so you'll have plenty of headroom.
What does "second deepest" mean and what length blades will fit?The KO 22.5 has a 22.5-inch deep chamber, making it Evenheat's second deepest model in the KO line (only the largest model is deeper). This depth accommodates long blades, swords, and multiple smaller knives arranged front-to-back. Inside, the chamber is 22.5" deep, 9" wide and 5.5" high. For capacity planning for your work, contact us with your typical blade lengths and we'll confirm fitment and suggest the optimal rack configuration.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty?No. We are an authorized Evenheat dealer. Your two-year warranty is fully valid and you have direct access to Evenheat’s support team. Buying from an unauthorized seller can void your warranty entirely.
