Authorized Evenheat dealer · full factory warranty

Brand new and shipped direct from Evenheat, so it carries Evenheat's full factory warranty. If something goes wrong, call us and we handle the claim with the factory for you.

Warranty terms are in the Warranty and support section below.

Returns: request within 15 days, unused

Because kilns are heavy and often built to order, returns are limited, so we'd rather help you pick the right one up front:

  • Ask within 15 days of purchase or 2 days after delivery, whichever comes first. We issue a return authorization (RA).
  • It must be new, unused (beyond the factory test fire) and in its original packaging.
  • A restocking fee of at least 25% applies, up to 50% on custom, 3-phase or made-to-order units. Return freight is on the buyer unless we made an error.
  • Damaged in transit? Note it on the delivery receipt, send us photos and we'll help with the freight claim.

Not included: blade fixture, loud alarm, tongs, gloves and foil (sold separately). Requires a 240V single-phase circuit (13A, 3120W) with a NEMA 6-20 receptacle.

Most 240V kilns need their own circuit and the matching outlet, installed by an electrician. Homes are usually 240V; schools and commercial buildings are often 208V, so pick the voltage that matches your panel.

Send us a photo of your breaker panel or outlet and we'll confirm before your kiln is built: 470-264-3563 (call or text).

Key features
Side-Opening DoorFull 180° swing puts the super-heated door well away from you during quenching operations. Spring-loaded phenolic handle stays cool to the touch and serves as both handle and latch, and a door shield protects the firebrick and reduces heat at the door and handle.
3" Firebrick ConstructionThicker than standard 2.5" brick, using Thermal Ceramics insulating firebrick made exclusively in Augusta, Georgia. Provides faster heat-up and higher temperature potential.
High-Temperature Element WireSpecial alloy normally reserved for high-temperature ceramic kilns, engineered to perform reliably at 2350°F maximum temperature for all steel types.
Quiet Drive Solid State RelayStandard on all KO ovens: Evenheat's patented relay has no moving parts and fires 60 times per second for ultra-tight temperature control.
Swing View Control EnclosurePivoting, adjustable control housing lets you rotate the controller to your preferred viewing angle during programming, then lay it flat for across-the-shop visibility.
Reinforced Stand with Tool RestUpgraded heavy-duty stand design with integrated tool rest for tongs, gloves, and other heat treating accessories.

Common questions
What steels can I heat treat in the KO 18 at 2350°F?At 2350°F maximum, the KO 18 handles virtually every blade steel including high-carbon steels (1095, 1084, O1), stainless steels (440C, AEB-L, 154CM), and even high-alloy tool steels and powdered metallurgy steels. This temperature range covers austenitizing requirements for all common knife making alloys and most exotic alloys.
Why is the side-opening door better than a drop-down door?During quenching, you need to quickly remove super-heated blades from the chamber. A drop-down door stays directly in front of you, radiating intense heat at your hands and face. The side-opening door swings a full 180° away, keeping that radiant heat well to the side while you focus on safely grabbing and quenching your work. The front-mounted cool-touch handle is also easier to operate one-handed while holding tongs.
How does the 3" firebrick improve performance? The extra half-inch of insulation compared to standard 2.5" brick reduces heat loss, which translates to faster heat-up times, more stable holding temperatures, and lower energy costs per cycle. For heat treating where precise temperature control is critical, this improved insulation helps the controller maintain tighter tolerances, especially during long soak times at austenitizing temperatures.
Does the KO 18 include the Quiet Drive Solid State Relay?Yes, it's standard on all KO ovens. The Quiet Drive SSR fires 60 times per second with no moving parts, delivering much tighter temperature control than mechanical contactors. This means less temperature swing during critical soak phases, more repeatable results across batches, and quieter operation. For professional knife makers or anyone doing production heat treating, that's a real advantage.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Evenheat dealer. Your two-year warranty is fully valid and you have direct access to Evenheat’s support team. Buying from an unauthorized seller can void your warranty entirely.
