Cress · Parts · ElectricalSwitches, cords, receptacles and panel hardware for Cress kilns. Several of these come in more than one voltage or rating and they are not interchangeable, so read the data plate rather than the model name: the infinite power switch alone comes in 120, 208 and 240 VAC, and the FireMate motor and thumbwheel assembly each come in two voltages.

These parts sit on a live circuit, most of them at 240V. Isolate the kiln at the breaker before you open a control panel, and if there is any doubt have an electrician or a kiln technician do the work. The wire terminals are made to order — tell us the gauge and the type you need.

Common questions
Which voltage do I need?Whatever the kiln's data plate says, not what the outlet looks like. If the plate is gone or illegible, send us the model and serial number and we will look it up rather than guess.
Can I fit these myself?Only if you are genuinely comfortable working inside a kiln control panel with the power isolated at the breaker. Most Cress kilns are on a 240V circuit. If there is any doubt, have an electrician or a kiln technician do it.
Why is there a special cord for a kiln?Ordinary cord insulation hardens and cracks in the heat that radiates off a kiln. These cords are built for that service, which is why they cost more than a generic appliance cord.
How do I know this is the right part for my kiln?Send us the model and serial number off the kiln's data plate, at sales@peachstatepottery.com or (470) 264-3563. Cress built kilns for decades and their part lists use a shorthand that does not always map cleanly onto a model name, so we check it by hand rather than letting you guess.
Are these genuine Cress parts?Yes. We are an authorized Cress dealer and everything here is ordered from Cress in Carson City, Nevada, against their current parts list.
What if Cress no longer makes the part I need?Tell us the part anyway. Cress is still manufacturing, and where a part has been superseded they usually have a current equivalent — we would rather find it for you than let you buy the wrong thing.
Send us your model and serial numberCress part lists use a shorthand that does not always map onto a model name, and several parts are built per kiln. Read the model and serial off the data plate, send it over, and we will confirm the right part before you pay.
