Evenheat · Replacement Parts · Lid Assemblies Evenheat Lid Assemblies with Elements Six models · Elements already fitted · Factory assembly On Evenheat’s glass and knife kilns the elements live in the lid, not the walls. When both the lid and its elements are done, this is the part to buy — the lid arrives with the elements already seated and routed, which is the fiddly half of the job. Check the voltage. The GT 14-6 and Hot Shot assembly is 120V; the rest are 240V. Fitting the wrong one is not a mistake that shows up until the first firing.

An assembly costs roughly a bare lid plus its elements, so you are paying for the fitting rather than a premium. If only the elements have gone and the lid is sound, buy the elements on their own and save several hundred dollars.

Common questions
Assembly, or a bare lid and separate elements?Buy the assembly if both are going, or if you would rather not thread elements into a lid yourself. Buy them separately if only one has failed. Seating elements in a fiber or brick lid is doable but unforgiving — a kinked element fails early.
How do I confirm my voltage? The data plate states it, and so does the plug. If your kiln runs on a standard household outlet it is almost certainly 120V; if it is on a dedicated circuit it is 240V. Send us the model number and a photo of the plate and we will confirm before anything ships.
Will this fix uneven firing? If the elements have aged unevenly, yes — that is exactly what it fixes on a lid-element kiln. If the thermocouple has drifted, no. Check with witness cones first; a thermocouple is a fraction of the price.
Not sure whether you need the assembly or just elements? Send us the model number and photos of the lid and elements. We will tell you honestly which one you need — often it is the cheaper option.
