Evenheat · Salt Bath · Thermocouples Evenheat Salt Bath Thermocouples and Mounts Seven parts · Chamber, immersion and over-temp · Salt Bath 709, 718, 818 A salt bath runs three separate sensing jobs and they are not interchangeable. The immersion thermocouple sits in the molten salt and reads the bath itself. The chamber thermocouple reads the space around it. The over-temp thermocouple exists purely to catch a runaway and shut things down — it is a safety device, not a spare. Molten salt is brutal on all of them, so these are wear parts rather than fit-and-forget.

The immersion thermocouple is the only part here that differs by model: one for the 709, another for the 718 and 818. Everything else is common across the three baths. Note that the leads cost more than the thermocouples they serve — that is Evenheat’s list.
Key features
The one part you selectA thermocouple, a set of leads, or a mount — whichever the selector names. These are separate parts, not a kit.
Nothing bundledAn immersion thermocouple does not include its mount or its leads. If you are replacing a scorched assembly, you may want all three.
Common questions
Which one do I actually need?Work out what is wrong first. A bath that will not hold temperature, or reads oddly, usually points at the immersion thermocouple. A dead or erratic reading with clean salt can be the leads. The over-temp is a safety circuit — if that is faulty, stop using the bath until it is right.
Should I replace the over-temp thermocouple as preventive maintenance? It is the one part here where we would say yes without hesitating if it is old. It does nothing on a good day and everything on a bad one, and $136 against a salt pot runaway is not a close call.
Can I fit these myself? The mechanical side is straightforward on a cold, drained bath. The wiring is inside the control box. If you are not confident with that, have an electrician do the connections — and never work on a bath with salt still molten.
Salt bath reading wrong? Tell us the model and what the controller is showing. We will help you narrow it down before you order, and tell you which parts are worth doing together.
