Evenheat · Replacement Parts · Bottoms Evenheat Kiln Bottoms Five shapes · Two model series · Factory replacement The bottom takes the weight of every load and the worst of the glaze drips, so it wears out. Pick the number of sides your kiln has and the series it belongs to. Count the flat faces of the shell rather than guessing from the model number, and check the data plate for the series — a High Fire bottom is a different part from an RM II bottom of the same shape.

There is no Deluxe bottom in Evenheat’s list — Deluxe kilns take the lid variant but share a bottom with the series above. If your data plate says Deluxe, ask us before ordering and we will confirm the part with the factory.

Common questions
Do I need a new bottom, or just kiln wash?Surface pitting and glaze marks are cosmetic — grind the high spots, re-wash and keep firing. Replace the bottom when it has cracked right through, when a corner has broken away, or when it has sagged enough that shelves no longer sit level. A bottom that is merely ugly is still a working bottom.
How do I count the sides?Look at the kiln from above and count the flat faces of the shell. Evenheat’s round-looking kilns are polygons. Send us the model number if you would rather we confirmed it.
Will a bottom fix my uneven firing?Rarely. Uneven firing is usually elements that have aged at different rates, a tired thermocouple, or a lid that no longer seals. A cracked bottom can leak heat, but check the other three first — they are cheaper.
Can I replace lid and bottom at once?Yes, and if both are going it is often the sensible move while the kiln is stripped down. Be honest about the total though: lid plus bottom plus a set of elements starts to approach the cost of a rebuild. Tell us what you have and we will do the arithmetic with you.
Not sure which bottom your kiln takes? Send us the model number off the data plate, or a photo from above. We will confirm the side count and the series before anything ships.
