Evenheat · Replacement Parts · Fiber Lids Evenheat Fiber Lids Three versions · Studio 8 and Studio Pro · Fiber, not firebrick Fiber lids are light and they heat and cool fast, which is why Evenheat use them on the small glass kilns rather than firebrick. They are also softer, so they mark and crumble at the edges with handling — which is the usual reason one gets replaced. Three versions here: the Studio 8 lid on its own with a base, the Studio 8 lid supplied together with its floor, and the Studio Pro lid with window cuts.
Versions and prices

Studio 8 — lid with base$144.0000342.105
Studio Pro — lid with window cuts$104.0000342.115
Evenheat describe the first two as “lid and floor” and “lid w/ base” respectively, and we have kept their wording. If you need to know exactly how many pieces are in the box before you order, ask — we will confirm with the factory rather than interpret it for you.

Common questions
My fiber lid is crumbling at the edge. Is it finished? Not necessarily. Edge wear is normal on fiber and does not stop it working. Replace it when it no longer seals against the kiln, when it has cracked through, or when pieces are dropping onto your ware — that last one is the real deadline.
Can I handle a fiber lid without gloves?Wear gloves and avoid scrubbing at it. Fiber sheds, and the dust is not something you want to breathe. Lift rather than drag, and let the kiln cool fully first.
Not sure which version yours takes? Send us the model number and a photo of the lid. We will confirm the part and how many pieces come in the box.
