A spring assembly carries most of the lid, so it rises with one hand and stays where you leave it instead of dropping. On a 29" kiln that is the difference between a two-person job and a one-person job, and it is kinder to the lid — most lid cracks start with a lid being dropped the last few inches. It is model-specific, so pick your kiln from the list rather than measuring.

The two 29" models are the dearer ones — a wider lid needs a heavier spring assembly. Everything else is the same price, so there is nothing to be gained by picking the wrong one.

Common questions
Can I fit this to a kiln I already own?Yes — that is what it is for. It bolts to the existing kiln and lid. Set aside an afternoon and read Evenheat’s instructions before you start; the spring is under tension and the order of assembly matters.
My kiln is not on the list. Will one of these fit?Do not assume so. These are the eight models Evenheat publish a Dyna-Lift for. Send us your model number and we will ask the factory rather than guess — a lift that does not quite fit puts the load in the wrong place.
Is it worth it?If you fire a 25" or 29" kiln on your own, or you have a shoulder or back that complains, it pays for itself in the first month. On a smaller kiln the lid is light enough that it is a luxury rather than a fix.
