Buying Guide

Fifty kits, because fifty chambers take fifty element sets

An Olympic pottery kiln is a ring of elements sized to one chamber. Change the diameter, the height or the voltage and the set changes with it, which is why there is no universal kit and no single element that fits several kilns.

The model number on your kiln's plate is the whole answer. Find it in the list below, order the kit that names it, and you get every element that chamber takes plus the electrical parts that have been switching them.

Firing glass rather than clay? The glass kiln kits are built differently and live on their own page.

Olympic Emergency Parts Kit for pottery kilns

Why buy your parts kit from us

Authorized Olympic dealer, down the road from the factory in Georgia.

One part number for the whole repair

The kit carries the complete element set for your chamber plus the electrical components that fail alongside it, so nothing is missing halfway through the job.

We check fitment before it ships

Checkout asks for the serial number, voltage, wiring and relay type. Each has an I am not sure option, so a label you cannot read never blocks the order.

Freight priced by weight, shown up front

Parts kits travel on weight-based ground rather than the flat accessory rate. The figure appears at checkout before you pay. Price match on every kit; no sales tax outside Georgia.

Every pottery chamber Olympic publishes a kit for. Match the plate on your kiln.

Raku 1823E Raku, in separate single-phase and three-phase kits

Watch the suffix. E and HE are not interchangeable, and a DM or MAS version of the same chamber size takes its own set. If your plate reads 2323HE, the 2323HE kit is the one, not the 2318HE.

THE
PHASE

The Raku kiln comes in two electrically different versions

The 1823E Raku is sold as a single-phase and a three-phase machine, and they take different kits. Nothing on the outside of the kiln makes this obvious, and the two are easy to confuse when ordering in a hurry with a cold kiln.

If you are not certain which you have, the supply feeding the kiln tells you, and so does the serial number. Call (470) 264-3563 before ordering rather than after.

Pottery kiln parts kit FAQs

The questions we get asked on the phone most often.

My plate says 2323HE. Will the 2318HE kit work?

No. The numbers describe the chamber, and a different chamber takes a different element set. Ordering the neighbouring size means the elements will not seat correctly in the grooves.

Match the plate exactly. If the plate is unreadable, call us with the serial number and we will identify it.

What is the difference between the E and HE kits?

They are different machines with different element sets, even where the chamber numbers look the same. Olympic publish separate kits for them and we list them separately.

Read the suffix off the plate rather than from memory, because E and HE sit next to each other in the catalogue and are easy to transpose.

Why are DM and MAS models listed on their own?

Because Olympic build them as distinct models with their own parts lists, even though the chamber dimensions in the name may match a standard kiln.

If your plate carries the DM or MAS prefix, order the kit that carries it too.

Do I replace all the elements or just the failed one?

The whole set, in nearly every case. The elements that have not failed yet have been through exactly the same firings as the one that did, and a single new element running alongside several tired ones fires unevenly.

That is why the kits are sold as complete sets rather than singles.

How do I know the elements are going?

Firing time is the signal. When a firing that used to reach temperature in eight hours starts taking ten or eleven for the same cone, the elements are losing output even if nothing has visibly broken.

Uneven results between the top and bottom shelves point the same way. Witness cones on both will tell you more than the controller will.

How are the kits shipped?

On weight-based ground rather than the flat accessory rate, because a complete element set for a large chamber is heavy. The rate is worked out from the weight and your zone and shown at checkout before you pay. See our shipping page.
