Paragon · Electric Kiln · Ceramic/Pottery Top-Loading Paragon CT81722 Ceramic Kiln CT81722 · 208/240V · Cone 10 (2350°F) · 8-Sided A taller sibling to the CT81713, the CT81722 keeps the same compact 17" 8-sided footprint but adds nine inches of stacking height, expanding the chamber to 2.95 cubic feet. It fires to Cone 10 on 208V or 240V power with a solid-state relay for quiet, precise element control, and its built-in auxiliary outlet plug powers a vent fan straight off the kiln's own circuit — a solid step-up kiln for a potter outgrowing a tabletop unit.

Common questions
What can I fire in the CT81722?
The CT81722 fires to Cone 10 (2350°F), covering stoneware and porcelain clay bodies as well as low-fire earthenware and mid-range glazes. Its extra stacking height over the CT81713 makes it a good fit for taller thrown or handbuilt forms.
Do I need 208V or 240V, and single-phase or three-phase?
The CT81722 ships wired for the voltage and phase you specify at order time. Most home and small studio installations use single-phase power at 240V; three-phase service is typically found in commercial or school buildings. Check your electrical panel or ask an electrician before ordering.
Does the kiln come with shelves or a stand?
No — like most Paragon top-loaders, the CT81722 ships as the kiln body itself. Shelves, posts, and a stand are sold separately as a furniture kit and stand accessory so you can choose the configuration that fits your studio.
How does the CT81722 compare to the CT81713?
Both share the same 17" interior diameter and 8-sided shape, but the CT81722 stands 22" tall versus 13", giving it 2.95 cubic feet of volume versus 1.75. Choose the CT81722 when you need more stacking height for taller forms or larger batches.
Is the warranty valid if I buy from Peach State Pottery?
Yes. Peach State Pottery is an authorized Paragon dealer, so your CT81722 comes with Paragon's full one-year manufacturer's warranty. Register your kiln within 30 days of delivery to activate coverage.

Common questions about this kiln

Still stuck? Call or text (470) 264-3563 and talk it through with a real person.

Is freight delivery included in the price?

No. Kiln prices do not include freight, and we do not quietly build it into the product price. Freight is charged at a flat rate based on your delivery address and is shown at checkout. Liftgate service is included when it is needed, and standard delivery is curbside. You can estimate your delivered cost with the ZIP code tool above the Add to Cart button.

Can I return this kiln if it is not right?

Return requests can be submitted within 30 days of delivery. The kiln needs to be in its original packaging, in new and resellable condition, and approved before it is sent back. A restocking fee may apply. Completing the manufacturer's recommended first test firing does not by itself make a kiln non-returnable, so you can confirm it works before you commit. Full terms are on our Returns page.

What electrical supply do I need for this kiln?

The Specifications tab on this page lists this model's voltage, amperage, required breaker size and NEMA plug configuration. Most 240V kilns need their own dedicated circuit fitted by a licensed electrician, while many 120V models run from a standard household outlet. If you are unsure what your space can support, call or text (470) 264-3563 before ordering.

Does this kiln come with a warranty?

Yes. This kiln carries the Paragon manufacturer warranty. Coverage length, what is included and any registration deadline are listed in the Specifications tab on this page. We are an authorized Paragon dealer, which is a condition of warranty coverage on most kiln brands.

What comes with the kiln, and what do I need to buy separately?

The What's Included tab on this page lists exactly what ships with this kiln. Most kilns need shelves, posts and kiln wash before your first firing, and these are not always included. A vent is recommended for indoor installations. Any add-ons available for this model are shown above the Add to Cart button.
