View full detailsEvenheat organise their heating elements by kiln series rather than by length, and the series names do real work: RM II and Classic, High Fire, the glass kilns, then the knife and heat-treating lines — KF, KO, KH — plus LB and LT, and the HT, Cube and Salt Bath group.
An element from the wrong series may physically fit and still be wrong, because the resistance is matched to the chamber and the control. The series name is printed on the kiln. Start there.
The same logic runs through the rest of the catalogue. Lids and bottoms are listed by how many sides the chamber has and which series it is, because a 10-sided RM II lid and a 10-sided High Fire lid are different parts.

The series is on the plate. If the plate is unreadable, the serial number will tell us the series and the year, which is usually enough to identify every part in the kiln.
Because Evenheat publish lids, bottoms and floors as parts, the usual reasons a kiln gets written off — a lid that has crumbled, a floor that has broken up — are repairs here rather than replacements.
A lid assembly with the element already fitted is the quickest version of that repair: one part, one fitting, and the element in it is the right one by definition.

The resistance is matched to the chamber and the control, so fitting the wrong series means a kiln that will not reach temperature or one that overshoots.
