2-year limited warranty on brick kilns, 1-year on fiber kilns — direct from Jen-Ken.
Jen-Ken · Ceramic Kiln · Mega Coil Series Jen-Ken Mega Coil 2829 3" Ceramic Kiln Model AF 2829 3" LL · 240V · 28" x 29" chamber · Cone 8 / 2,300°F The Mega Coil 2829 is the largest kiln in Jen-Ken's Mega Coil line: 10.33 cubic feet, 3-inch brick, and six oversized heavy-gauge coils instead of the thinner elements a standard kiln uses. Heavier coil stock is the whole point of the line — it lasts longer under frequent firing and it is easier to change when it finally goes. This is a production kiln. It draws 55 amps on a direct-wire or 6-50R connection, so the circuit is a real piece of electrical work, not a plug-in.

Common questions
What electrical circuit does it need?240V single phase, 55A draw, 13,200W. Jen-Ken specifies a 70A breaker and #4 circuit wire, on either a NEMA 6-50R receptacle or a direct-wire connection. This is a dedicated high-amperage circuit and needs a licensed electrician — check your panel has the spare capacity before you order. Jen-Ken notes that runs over 30 feet from the breaker may need the next heavier gauge.
What is a Mega Coil, and is it worth the money?Mega Coil is a separate, dearer Jen-Ken line, not a marketing name for 3-inch brick. The elements are wound from heavier-gauge wire than the standard kiln uses. Under heavy production firing they last longer and are simpler to swap. If you fire once a month, the standard 2829 3" does the same job for less. If you fire most days, the coils are the reason to buy this one.
What can it fire?Jen-Ken rates it cone 8 at 2,300°F. That covers low-fire, mid-fire stoneware and porcelain. It will not reach cone 10 — you will see cone 10 claimed for kilns in this class elsewhere, and it is not a rating Jen-Ken publishes for this one.
How long until it ships?Jen-Ken builds to order in Lakeland, Florida. Their own guidance is that kilns can take several weeks to months depending on the production queue. Call us and we will get you the current estimate before you commit.
What actually comes in the crate?Jen-Ken does not publish a crate contents list for every model, so we do not want to guess. Call or email us and we will confirm exactly what ships with this kiln — stand, lid lifters, furniture — before you order.
Can I get it in 208V or three phase?Standard build is 240V single phase, and that is the only configuration Jen-Ken publishes a specification for. Jen-Ken will build most ceramic models for 208V, and some for three phase, to order. There is no published amperage, breaker or wire figure for a three-phase build, so contact us for a quote and we will get the numbers from the factory.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, so the factory two-year warranty applies exactly as it would buying direct. Keep your proof of purchase.
10 cubic feet is a lot of kiln. Sure about the circuit? We are authorized Jen-Ken dealers based in Georgia. Send us a photo of your panel and tell us how often you fire, and we will tell you straight whether this is the right kiln — including when the standard-brick 2829 would do.

Common questions about this kiln

Still stuck? Call or text (470) 264-3563 and talk it through with a real person.

Is freight delivery included in the price?

No. Kiln prices do not include freight, and we do not quietly build it into the product price. Freight is charged at a flat rate based on your delivery address and is shown at checkout. Liftgate service is included when it is needed, and standard delivery is curbside. You can estimate your delivered cost with the ZIP code tool above the Add to Cart button.

Can I return this kiln if it is not right?

Return requests can be submitted within 30 days of delivery. The kiln needs to be in its original packaging, in new and resellable condition, and approved before it is sent back. A restocking fee may apply. Completing the manufacturer's recommended first test firing does not by itself make a kiln non-returnable, so you can confirm it works before you commit. Full terms are on our Returns page.

What electrical supply do I need for this kiln?

The Specifications tab on this page lists this model's voltage, amperage, required breaker size and NEMA plug configuration. Most 240V kilns need their own dedicated circuit fitted by a licensed electrician, while many 120V models run from a standard household outlet. If you are unsure what your space can support, call or text (470) 264-3563 before ordering.

Does this kiln come with a warranty?

Yes. This kiln carries the Jen-Ken manufacturer warranty. Coverage length, what is included and any registration deadline are listed in the Specifications tab on this page. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, which is a condition of warranty coverage on most kiln brands.

What comes with the kiln, and what do I need to buy separately?

The What's Included tab on this page lists exactly what ships with this kiln. Most kilns need shelves, posts and kiln wash before your first firing, and these are not always included. A vent is recommended for indoor installations. Any add-ons available for this model are shown above the Add to Cart button.
