2-year limited warranty on brick kilns, 1-year on fiber kilns — direct from Jen-Ken.
Jen-Ken · Ceramic Kiln · AF3C Series Jen-Ken AF3C 15/9 Ceramic Kiln Model AF3C 15/9 · 240V · 15" x 9" chamber · 2,300°F Just under a cubic foot of firebrick chamber, rated to 2,300°F, on a 15-amp 240V circuit. The 15/9 is a test kiln that is not a toy: it reaches the same temperature as Jen-Ken's studio kilns, so glaze tests fired in it actually tell you something about what the big kiln will do. Jen-Ken lists it for ceramics, pottery, porcelain and glass casting, which makes it useful as a second kiln for small work alongside a larger one.

Common questions
What electrical circuit does it need?240V single phase, 15A draw, 3,600W. Jen-Ken lists a NEMA 6-20 connection with a 20A breaker and #12 circuit wire. That is a small dedicated 240V circuit — much less work than a studio kiln needs, but it is still 240V and still needs its own run. Use a licensed electrician and confirm against your local code.
What can it fire?Jen-Ken publishes 2,300°F for this kiln but does not state a cone rating, so we have not invented one. In practice a 2,300°F ceiling covers low-fire and mid-fire clay work. It will not reach cone 10.
Is it worth having alongside a big kiln? That is what most people use it for. Glaze tests, single pieces, small commissions and anything you do not want to hold up a studio firing for. Because it hits the same 2,300°F as the big kiln, a test fired in here is a genuine test rather than an approximation.
Can it fire glass?Jen-Ken lists it for glass casting as well as clay. Glass work needs slower, lower schedules than clay, which the Orton controller handles. If glass is your main medium, ask us about the dedicated glass range — those kilns are built around top-fired elements for even heat on the surface.
How long until it ships?Jen-Ken builds to order in Lakeland, Florida. Their own guidance is that kilns can take several weeks to months depending on the production queue. Call us and we will get you the current estimate before you commit.
What actually comes in the crate?Jen-Ken does not publish a crate contents list for every model, so we do not want to guess. Call or email us and we will confirm exactly what ships with this kiln — stand, lid lifters, furniture — before you order.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, so the factory two-year warranty applies exactly as it would buying direct. Keep your proof of purchase.
Test kiln, or first kiln? We are authorized Jen-Ken dealers based in Georgia. Tell us what you want it for and we will tell you straight whether 0.99 cubic feet will do the job — or whether you should start bigger.

Common questions about this kiln

Still stuck? Call or text (470) 264-3563 and talk it through with a real person.

Is freight delivery included in the price?

No. Kiln prices do not include freight, and we do not quietly build it into the product price. Freight is charged at a flat rate based on your delivery address and is shown at checkout. Liftgate service is included when it is needed, and standard delivery is curbside. You can estimate your delivered cost with the ZIP code tool above the Add to Cart button.

Can I return this kiln if it is not right?

Return requests can be submitted within 30 days of delivery. The kiln needs to be in its original packaging, in new and resellable condition, and approved before it is sent back. A restocking fee may apply. Completing the manufacturer's recommended first test firing does not by itself make a kiln non-returnable, so you can confirm it works before you commit. Full terms are on our Returns page.

What electrical supply do I need for this kiln?

The Specifications tab on this page lists this model's voltage, amperage, required breaker size and NEMA plug configuration. Most 240V kilns need their own dedicated circuit fitted by a licensed electrician, while many 120V models run from a standard household outlet. If you are unsure what your space can support, call or text (470) 264-3563 before ordering.

Does this kiln come with a warranty?

Yes. This kiln carries the Jen-Ken manufacturer warranty. Coverage length, what is included and any registration deadline are listed in the Specifications tab on this page. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, which is a condition of warranty coverage on most kiln brands.

What comes with the kiln, and what do I need to buy separately?

The What's Included tab on this page lists exactly what ships with this kiln. Most kilns need shelves, posts and kiln wash before your first firing, and these are not always included. A vent is recommended for indoor installations. Any add-ons available for this model are shown above the Add to Cart button.

Jen-Ken has been owned and run by the same two brothers in Lakeland, Florida since 1991, and builds more than 60 kiln models for clay, glass and bladesmithing. The people who build the kilns fire them too.
