2-year limited warranty on brick kilns, 1-year on fiber kilns — direct from Jen-Ken.
Jen-Ken · Ceramic Kiln · 3-Inch Brick Jen-Ken 2431 3" Ceramic Kiln Model 2431 3" · 240V · 24" x 31" chamber · Cone 5-6 / 2,300°F This is the 3-inch brick version of Jen-Ken's 2431 — 8.11 cubic feet in a 24" x 31" chamber, with thicker walls than the standard build. The extra brick holds heat better, which matters when you are firing several times a week rather than once a month. Jen-Ken offers it in two electrical builds: a 45-amp version on a 6-50R plug, and a 55-amp high-fire version that is direct wired. Choose the circuit before you order, because it is built to order either way.

Common questions
Which electrical build should I order? The 45A build runs on 240V with a NEMA 6-50R receptacle, a 60A breaker and #6 wire. The 55A high-fire build is direct wired with a 70A breaker and #4 wire, and is the one Jen-Ken points production users toward. Both are single phase. Decide before you order — this is a build-to-order kiln and the two are not interchangeable afterwards. Have a licensed electrician confirm the circuit against local code; Jen-Ken notes runs over 30 feet may need the next heavier gauge.
What does the 3" brick actually buy me?Better heat retention and a more even, slower cool. In practice that means lower power cost per firing and less thermal stress on the brick when you fire frequently. It does not raise the temperature ceiling — this is still a 2,300°F kiln.
What can it fire?Jen-Ken rates it cone 5-6 at 2,300°F. That covers paint-your-own-pottery bisque and low-fire glaze work, which is the market Jen-Ken builds this size for, and mid-fire stoneware. It will not reach cone 10.
Will it fit through my door? The kiln body is 24" x 31" inside; Jen-Ken's crate is 54" x 45" x 64". Measure your access before delivery — this arrives by motor freight on a pallet and a liftgate or dock is usually needed.
How long until it ships?Jen-Ken builds to order in Lakeland, Florida. Their own guidance is that kilns can take several weeks to months depending on the production queue. Call us and we will get you the current estimate before you commit.
What actually comes in the crate?Jen-Ken does not publish a crate contents list for every model, so we do not want to guess. Call or email us and we will confirm exactly what ships with this kiln — stand, lid lifters, furniture — before you order.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, so the factory two-year warranty applies exactly as it would buying direct. Keep your proof of purchase.
45A or 55A? Ask before you order. We are authorized Jen-Ken dealers based in Georgia. Tell us what power you have at the panel and how often you fire, and we will tell you which build to order — and whether the standard-brick 2431 would do the same job for less.

Common questions about this kiln

Still stuck? Call or text (470) 264-3563 and talk it through with a real person.

Is freight delivery included in the price?

No. Kiln prices do not include freight, and we do not quietly build it into the product price. Freight is charged at a flat rate based on your delivery address and is shown at checkout. Liftgate service is included when it is needed, and standard delivery is curbside. You can estimate your delivered cost with the ZIP code tool above the Add to Cart button.

Can I return this kiln if it is not right?

Return requests can be submitted within 30 days of delivery. The kiln needs to be in its original packaging, in new and resellable condition, and approved before it is sent back. A restocking fee may apply. Completing the manufacturer's recommended first test firing does not by itself make a kiln non-returnable, so you can confirm it works before you commit. Full terms are on our Returns page.

What electrical supply do I need for this kiln?

The Specifications tab on this page lists this model's voltage, amperage, required breaker size and NEMA plug configuration. Most 240V kilns need their own dedicated circuit fitted by a licensed electrician, while many 120V models run from a standard household outlet. If you are unsure what your space can support, call or text (470) 264-3563 before ordering.

Does this kiln come with a warranty?

Yes. This kiln carries the Jen-Ken manufacturer warranty. Coverage length, what is included and any registration deadline are listed in the Specifications tab on this page. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, which is a condition of warranty coverage on most kiln brands.

What comes with the kiln, and what do I need to buy separately?

The What's Included tab on this page lists exactly what ships with this kiln. Most kilns need shelves, posts and kiln wash before your first firing, and these are not always included. A vent is recommended for indoor installations. Any add-ons available for this model are shown above the Add to Cart button.

Jen-Ken has been owned and run by the same two brothers in Lakeland, Florida since 1991, and builds more than 60 kiln models for clay, glass and bladesmithing. The people who build the kilns fire them too.
