2-year limited warranty on brick kilns, 1-year on fiber kilns — direct from Jen-Ken.
Jen-Ken · Glass Kiln · ProFusion Fiber Series Jen-Ken ProFusion 16 Glass Kiln Model AFG ProFusion 16 · 120V · 16" x 16" x 5" chamber · 1,700°F The ProFusion 16 is the small end of Jen-Ken's fiber clamshell line and the one that plugs into a normal wall. It is an all-fiber chamber rather than brick, so it heats and cools fast — Jen-Ken's own figure is full-fuse temperature in about an hour and a half — and at 42 lbs it sits on a bench rather than a stand. The whole top half lifts on a hinge, so you load a 16" x 16" shelf from above with the chamber wide open in front of you instead of reaching down into a well. It runs on 120V and draws 15 amps, which Jen-Ken specifies on its own dedicated 20-amp circuit.

Key features
Orton AF3P 3-button controllerJen-Ken fits the Orton AutoFire AF3P digital 3-button controller as standard — programmable ramp-and-hold firing, not a manual switch.
Integrated stand with castersJen-Ken lists a built-in stand with casters for this model, so it rolls rather than being lifted.
Quartz-encased elementsThe elements run inside quartz tubes rather than being buried in the fiber, which is what lets the chamber be all-fiber and still take direct radiant heat.
Clamshell bodyThe top half hinges up as one piece. Loading is over the open shelf, not down into a well.
1-year limited warrantyJen-Ken's fiber-kiln warranty, direct from the factory to the original purchaser.
Built to order in FloridaAssembled in Jen-Ken's own Lakeland shop rather than drop-shipped from a distributor.
Optional accessories
Kiln shelves, posts and a furniture kitGlass wants a flat, primed shelf and fibre paper; casting wants posts and headroom. Jen-Ken's own shelves and posts are sized to this chamber and we stock them alongside the kiln. Tell us your shelf size and we will match it.
Kiln wash and shelf primerGlass will weld itself to an unprimed shelf. Most glass workers go through primer steadily, so it is worth adding to a first order.
Slumping moulds and fibre paperMoulds and fibre paper are the other half of a warm-glass setup. Tell us the shelf size you are working to and we will point you at what fits.
Controller upgradeJen-Ken fits the Orton AutoFire AF3P 3-button as standard and offers other AutoFire controllers on the fiber line. It is a factory option rather than a checkout add-on — call us and we will quote it.
Common questions
What electrical circuit does it need?120V single phase, a 15-amp draw, 1,800 watts, and a NEMA 5-15R receptacle — an ordinary three-prong outlet. What is not ordinary is that Jen-Ken specifies a dedicated 20-amp circuit with #12 wire behind it, and they say so on their own spec table. A 15-amp kiln is a continuous load; sharing a 15-amp household circuit with anything else will trip it. If you do not already have a spare 20-amp run in the room, budget for an electrician.
Why fiber instead of brick?Fiber has almost no thermal mass, so it comes up to temperature fast and cools fast — Jen-Ken quotes roughly an hour and a half to full fuse on this kiln. That suits a studio turning work around in a day. The trade-offs are a softer interior that does not take knocks like brick, a lower ceiling (1,700°F, so no casting or clay), and a one-year warranty rather than two.
What cone will it reach?Jen-Ken publishes no cone rating for any kiln in their glass line, and we have not invented one. What is published is the maximum temperature, which is in the table above. Cone numbers are a ceramics measure; for glass work the temperature and the firing schedule are what matter.
How big a piece will it take? The shelf is 16" x 16" and the chamber is 5" tall. That is comfortable for tiles, plates, panels and jewellery runs. It is not a kiln for deep slumps or tall moulds — 5 inches is the hard limit.
What actually comes in the crate?Jen-Ken does not publish a crate contents list for every model, so we do not want to guess. Call or email us and we will confirm exactly what ships with this kiln — stand, furniture, shelf — before you order.
How long until it ships?Jen-Ken builds to order in Lakeland, Florida. Their own guidance is that kilns can take several weeks to months depending on the production queue. Call us and we will get you the current estimate before you commit.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, so the factory warranty applies exactly as it would buying direct. Note that Jen-Ken warrants fiber kilns for one year and brick kilns for two — the ProFusion is a fiber kiln, so it is the one-year line. Keep your proof of purchase.
Not sure a 120V kiln is enough? We are authorized Jen-Ken dealers based in Georgia. Tell us what you are making and what power you have available, and we will tell you straight whether this is the right kiln — including when a cheaper one would do.

Common questions about this kiln

Still stuck? Call or text (470) 264-3563 and talk it through with a real person.

Is freight delivery included in the price?

No. Kiln prices do not include freight, and we do not quietly build it into the product price. Freight is charged at a flat rate based on your delivery address and is shown at checkout. Liftgate service is included when it is needed, and standard delivery is curbside. You can estimate your delivered cost with the ZIP code tool above the Add to Cart button.

Can I return this kiln if it is not right?

Return requests can be submitted within 30 days of delivery. The kiln needs to be in its original packaging, in new and resellable condition, and approved before it is sent back. A restocking fee may apply. Completing the manufacturer's recommended first test firing does not by itself make a kiln non-returnable, so you can confirm it works before you commit. Full terms are on our Returns page.

What electrical supply do I need for this kiln?

The Specifications tab on this page lists this model's voltage, amperage, required breaker size and NEMA plug configuration. Most 240V kilns need their own dedicated circuit fitted by a licensed electrician, while many 120V models run from a standard household outlet. If you are unsure what your space can support, call or text (470) 264-3563 before ordering.

Does this kiln come with a warranty?

Yes. This kiln carries the Jen-Ken manufacturer warranty. Coverage length, what is included and any registration deadline are listed in the Specifications tab on this page. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, which is a condition of warranty coverage on most kiln brands.

What comes with the kiln, and what do I need to buy separately?

The What's Included tab on this page lists exactly what ships with this kiln. Most kilns need shelves, posts and kiln wash before your first firing, and these are not always included. A vent is recommended for indoor installations. Any add-ons available for this model are shown above the Add to Cart button.
