Two halves make a level, so six halves is three full levels — with the advantage that you can pull one half out for a tall piece and still load the other side. Twenty-four posts, six each of 1", 2", 4" and 6", plus a pound of shelf primer. We carry the Mega Coil 2822 3" and the AF3C 2822 3".

Six 26" half shelvesHalf shelves only — this kit includes no full shelves. Two halves make one level, so six gives you three levels, and a half shelf is far easier to lift in and out of a 28" kiln than a one-piece 26" slab.

Common questions
Which kilns does this fit?Jen-Ken lists it as the furniture kit for the 2822. We carry the Mega Coil 2822 3" and the AF3C 2822 3". There is also a Ceram-a-Glass 2822, and Jen-Ken lists a separate Ceram-a-Glass kit for it. Jen-Ken names the kiln model in the kit's title only — they publish no separate compatibility list. Send us your model number and we will confirm it.
How is this different from the 2822 Ceram-a-Glass kit?Shelves, not posts. This kit is six 26" half shelves — three levels, every one of them split down the middle — at $510. The Ceram-a-Glass kit is two 26" full shelves plus four 26" halves — four levels, two of them solid one-piece — at $660. Both have the same twenty-four posts and the same pound of primer.
Are half shelves worse than full shelves?Different, not worse. A seam can catch a foot and needs levelling, but a half shelf is much easier to handle, and you can unload one side without disturbing the other. In a kiln this wide most potters prefer halves.
Can I add a full shelf later?Yes — shelves are sold individually. Send us your model number and we will tell you which full shelf matches this kiln.

Is freight delivery included in the price?

No. Kiln prices do not include freight, and we do not quietly build it into the product price. Freight is charged at a flat rate based on your delivery address and is shown at checkout. Liftgate service is included when it is needed, and standard delivery is curbside. You can estimate your delivered cost with the ZIP code tool above the Add to Cart button.

Can I return this kiln if it is not right?

Return requests can be submitted within 30 days of delivery. The kiln needs to be in its original packaging, in new and resellable condition, and approved before it is sent back. A restocking fee may apply. Completing the manufacturer's recommended first test firing does not by itself make a kiln non-returnable, so you can confirm it works before you commit. What electrical supply do I need for this kiln?

The Specifications tab on this page lists this model's voltage, amperage, required breaker size and NEMA plug configuration. Most 240V kilns need their own dedicated circuit fitted by a licensed electrician, while many 120V models run from a standard household outlet. Does this kiln come with a warranty?

Yes. This kiln carries the Jen-Ken manufacturer warranty. Coverage length, what is included and any registration deadline are listed in the Specifications tab on this page. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, which is a condition of warranty coverage on most kiln brands.

What comes with the kiln, and what do I need to buy separately?
