Key features
The kiln, assembled and wiredParagon builds, wires and tests it at the factory, so it arrives ready to connect to power.
Built-in base with mar-proof feetThe steel base is part of the kiln, with mar-proof feet underneath. Nothing separate ships for it.
Digital controller, factory-installedParagon fits and wires the controller before the kiln leaves the factory. Paragon has been renaming and replacing its controller line and dealer listings are out of date at different dates, so we do not print a model name here. We confirm the exact controller with Paragon when you order.
Type-K thermocouple, installedFitted at the factory in a high-nickel sheath and wired to the controller.
Lid interrupt safety switchParagon fits a switch that cuts power to the elements when the kiln is opened, and the On/Off switch is on the kiln as well.
Cord and plugParagon ships this kiln with a cord and plug. The receptacle type changes with the voltage option you order, so we confirm the exact plug — or whether your configuration is wired direct instead — with Paragon before the order goes in.
Paragon limited warrantyParagon limited warranty — we confirm the term for your model before you order. Paragon's published schedule and its dealers' listings disagree on the term for this kiln, so we will not print a number here that we cannot stand behind.
Not includedNo shelves or posts ship with a clam shell. The window, bead doors, the ceramic fiber top upgrade, shelf kits and the mercury relay are separate options at order time.

Common questions
What's the difference between a clam shell and a top-lid kiln?
A clam shell kiln opens from the side like a book, with elements built into the shell; a top-lid kiln hinges open from above. Both fuse and slump equally well — the choice usually comes down to studio layout and loading preference.
What's the difference between the CS14S and CS14D?
The CS14S has a single clamshell opening. The CS14D adds an independent top lid on top of the clamshell body, giving you two ways to access the chamber.
What colors is the CS14S available in?
It's available in 8 color options at no additional cost, so you can match your studio's look.
Is the warranty valid if I buy from Peach State Pottery?
Yes. Peach State Pottery is an authorized Paragon dealer, so your CS14S comes with Paragon's full one-year manufacturer's warranty. Register your kiln within 30 days of delivery to activate coverage.
Not sure if the CS14S is right for your studio? We'll help you compare chamber sizes, power requirements, and accessories to find the perfect fit.

Common questions about this kiln

Still stuck? Call or text (470) 264-3563 and talk it through with a real person.

Is freight delivery included in the price?

No. Kiln prices do not include freight, and we do not quietly build it into the product price. Freight is charged at a flat rate based on your delivery address and is shown at checkout. Liftgate service is included when it is needed, and standard delivery is curbside. You can estimate your delivered cost with the ZIP code tool above the Add to Cart button.

Can I return this kiln if it is not right?

Return requests can be submitted within 30 days of delivery. The kiln needs to be in its original packaging, in new and resellable condition, and approved before it is sent back. A restocking fee may apply. Completing the manufacturer's recommended first test firing does not by itself make a kiln non-returnable, so you can confirm it works before you commit. Full terms are on our Returns page.

What electrical supply do I need for this kiln?

The Specifications tab on this page lists this model's voltage, amperage, required breaker size and NEMA plug configuration. Most 240V kilns need their own dedicated circuit fitted by a licensed electrician, while many 120V models run from a standard household outlet. If you are unsure what your space can support, call or text (470) 264-3563 before ordering.

Does this kiln come with a warranty?

Yes. This kiln carries the Paragon manufacturer warranty. Coverage length, what is included and any registration deadline are listed in the Specifications tab on this page. We are an authorized Paragon dealer, which is a condition of warranty coverage on most kiln brands.

What comes with the kiln, and what do I need to buy separately?

The What's Included tab on this page lists exactly what ships with this kiln. Most kilns need shelves, posts and kiln wash before your first firing, and these are not always included. A vent is recommended for indoor installations. Any add-ons available for this model are shown above the Add to Cart button.
