2-year limited warranty on brick kilns, 1-year on fiber kilns — direct from Jen-Ken.
Jen-Ken · Glass Kiln · ProFusion Fiber Series Jen-Ken ProFusion 38 Glass Kiln Model AFG ProFusion 38 · 240V · 38" x 26" chamber · 1,700°F The ProFusion 38 is the rectangular one. Where the 26 is square, this chamber runs 38 inches in one direction on the same 26-inch width, which is the shape you want for panels, sink bowls, long platters and anything that will not sit on a square shelf. It is the same all-fiber clamshell construction and the same 36-amp 240V circuit as the 26 — you are paying for length, not for power. At 300 lbs on its own stand it is a fixed installation rather than something you move about, and the fast heat-up and cool-down of a fiber chamber is what lets a studio run it more than once a day.

Key features
Orton AutoFire 4000 12-button controllerJen-Ken fits the 12-button AutoFire 4000 as standard on this model — 23 preset programs plus 10 of your own.
Quartz-encased elementsThe elements run inside quartz tubes rather than being buried in the fiber, so the chamber can be all-fiber and still fire directly on the work.
Clamshell bodyThe upper half hinges open as one piece, so a 38-inch panel is loaded over an open shelf rather than lowered into a well.
1-year limited warrantyJen-Ken's fiber-kiln warranty, direct from the factory to the original purchaser.
Built to order in FloridaAssembled in Jen-Ken's own Lakeland shop rather than drop-shipped from a distributor.
Crate contents — ask usJen-Ken does not publish a crate list for this model. We will confirm exactly what ships with it before you order rather than guess.
Optional accessories
Kiln shelves, posts and a furniture kitGlass wants a flat, primed shelf and fibre paper; casting wants posts and headroom. Jen-Ken's own shelves and posts are sized to this chamber and we stock them alongside the kiln. Tell us your shelf size and we will match it.
Kiln wash and shelf primerGlass will weld itself to an unprimed shelf. Most glass workers go through primer steadily, so it is worth adding to a first order.
Slumping moulds and fibre paperMoulds and fibre paper are the other half of a warm-glass setup. Tell us the shelf size you are working to and we will point you at what fits.
Controller upgradeJen-Ken fits the Orton AutoFire 4000 12-button as standard and offers the Orton AutoFire Slide touchscreen and the SDS TAP II in its place. It is a factory option rather than a checkout add-on — call us and we will quote it.
Common questions
What electrical circuit does it need?240V single phase, 36 amps, a NEMA 6-50R receptacle, a 50-amp breaker and #6 copper. Those figures agree with the wiring table in Jen-Ken's own owner's manual, so we are happy to print them. It needs its own dedicated run — a kiln is a continuous load. Have a licensed electrician confirm the circuit against your local code before delivery. One small note for completeness: Jen-Ken lists 8,600 watts, while 240V at 36 amps works out at 8,640W. It makes no practical difference to how the circuit is sized.
How deep is the chamber, really?Jen-Ken's product page says 12 inches and 6.86 cubic feet. Jen-Ken's own September 2025 glass price list says 15 inches and 9.15 cubic feet for the same model. The two documents do not agree, and we are not going to pick the flattering one. We have published the product-page figures above because that is the spec sheet the kiln is sold against. If the depth matters to you — and it does if you are buying slumping moulds — call us and we will get the answer from the factory before you order.
What cone will it reach?Jen-Ken publishes no cone rating for any kiln in their glass line, and we have not invented one. What is published is the maximum temperature, which is in the table above. Cone numbers are a ceramics measure; for glass work the temperature and the firing schedule are what matter.
How is this different from the ProFusion 26?Length. The 26 is a 26" square; this is 38" x 26". Same fiber construction, same clamshell, same 36-amp 240V circuit, same 1,700°F ceiling. Buy the 38 if your work is long — panels, counters, platters, sink bowls. Buy the 26 if it is square, because it costs substantially less and needs less floor.
What actually comes in the crate?Jen-Ken does not publish a crate contents list for every model, so we do not want to guess. Call or email us and we will confirm exactly what ships with this kiln — stand, furniture, shelf — before you order.
How long until it ships?Jen-Ken builds to order in Lakeland, Florida. Their own guidance is that kilns can take several weeks to months depending on the production queue. Call us and we will get you the current estimate before you commit.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, so the factory warranty applies exactly as it would buying direct. Note that Jen-Ken warrants fiber kilns for one year and brick kilns for two — the ProFusion is a fiber kiln, so it is the one-year line. Keep your proof of purchase.
Buying for long work rather than square? We are authorized Jen-Ken dealers based in Georgia. Jen-Ken's own two documents disagree on this kiln's chamber depth, so if you are sizing moulds or shelves, call us and we will get the figure confirmed by the factory before you commit.

Common questions about this kiln

Still stuck? Call or text (470) 264-3563 and talk it through with a real person.

Is freight delivery included in the price?

No. Kiln prices do not include freight, and we do not quietly build it into the product price. Freight is charged at a flat rate based on your delivery address and is shown at checkout. Liftgate service is included when it is needed, and standard delivery is curbside. You can estimate your delivered cost with the ZIP code tool above the Add to Cart button.

Can I return this kiln if it is not right?

Return requests can be submitted within 30 days of delivery. The kiln needs to be in its original packaging, in new and resellable condition, and approved before it is sent back. A restocking fee may apply. Completing the manufacturer's recommended first test firing does not by itself make a kiln non-returnable, so you can confirm it works before you commit. Full terms are on our Returns page.

What electrical supply do I need for this kiln?

The Specifications tab on this page lists this model's voltage, amperage, required breaker size and NEMA plug configuration. Most 240V kilns need their own dedicated circuit fitted by a licensed electrician, while many 120V models run from a standard household outlet. If you are unsure what your space can support, call or text (470) 264-3563 before ordering.

Does this kiln come with a warranty?

Yes. This kiln carries the Jen-Ken manufacturer warranty. Coverage length, what is included and any registration deadline are listed in the Specifications tab on this page. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, which is a condition of warranty coverage on most kiln brands.

What comes with the kiln, and what do I need to buy separately?

The What's Included tab on this page lists exactly what ships with this kiln. Most kilns need shelves, posts and kiln wash before your first firing, and these are not always included. A vent is recommended for indoor installations. Any add-ons available for this model are shown above the Add to Cart button.
