2-year limited warranty on brick kilns, 1-year on fiber kilns — direct from Jen-Ken.
Jen-Ken · Glass Kiln · AF3P Series Jen-Ken AF3P 15/6 Glass Kiln Model AF3P 15/6 · 120V · 15" x 6" chamber · 1,700°F The 15/6 is the biggest chamber Jen-Ken will put on a 120V circuit in this series — 15 inches across and 6 deep, with elements in both the top and the sides, which is what gives fused glass an even heat across a wide shelf. It is the sensible first kiln for someone who has outgrown the 11-inch models but does not want to pay an electrician. Jen-Ken builds it in two versions, a 15-amp and a 17-amp, and the two take different outlets, so it is worth deciding which before you order rather than after.

Key features
Orton AF3P 3-button controllerJen-Ken fits the Orton AutoFire AF3P as standard — programmable ramp-and-hold firing with blank user programs, not a manual switch.
Top and side elementsElements above and around the work rather than in one plane only, which is what gives a wide shelf an even fuse.
Runs on household power120V, so no service upgrade — though the 17-amp build needs a 20-amp outlet rather than a standard one.
2-year limited warrantyJen-Ken's brick-kiln warranty, direct from the factory to the original purchaser.
Built to order in FloridaAssembled in Jen-Ken's own Lakeland shop rather than drop-shipped from a distributor.
Crate contents — ask usJen-Ken does not publish a crate list for this model. We will confirm exactly what ships with it, including whether a shelf is in the box, before you order.
Optional accessories
Kiln shelves, posts and a furniture kitGlass wants a flat, primed shelf and fibre paper; casting wants posts and headroom. Jen-Ken's own shelves and posts are sized to this chamber and we stock them alongside the kiln. Tell us your shelf size and we will match it.
Kiln wash and shelf primerGlass will weld itself to an unprimed shelf. Most glass workers go through primer steadily, so it is worth adding to a first order.
Slumping moulds and fibre paperMoulds and fibre paper are the other half of a warm-glass setup. Tell us the shelf size you are working to and we will point you at what fits.
Controller upgradeJen-Ken fits the Orton AutoFire AF3P 3-button as standard. Other AutoFire controllers are a factory option rather than a checkout add-on — call us and we will quote it.
Common questions
15 amps or 17 amps — which should I order? The 17-amp build puts 2,040 watts into the chamber instead of 1,800, so it climbs faster and holds better on a cold day. The cost is the outlet: 15 amps plugs into an ordinary NEMA 5-15R, 17 amps wants a NEMA 5-20R, which is the one with the sideways slot. If you already have a 20-amp outlet in the room, take the 17. If you do not, the 15 does the same firings a bit more slowly and saves you an electrician. Tell us which and we will order it that way — it is a factory build, not something we can change later.
What electrical circuit does it need?120V single phase on its own dedicated circuit. Jen-Ken specifies a 20-amp breaker and #12 circuit wire for both builds. One thing to raise with your electrician if you are taking the 17-amp version: a kiln is a continuous load, and the usual 125% sizing rule puts a 17-amp continuous draw at 21.25 amps, which is more than a 20-amp breaker allows. Jen-Ken publishes 20 amps and we have printed what they publish, but we would not wire the 17-amp build without an electrician signing off on the breaker first. Call us if you want us to put the question to the factory before you order.
What cone will it reach?Jen-Ken publishes no cone rating for any kiln in their glass line, and we have not invented one. What is published is the maximum temperature, which is in the table above. Cone numbers are a ceramics measure; for glass work the temperature and the firing schedule are what matter.
What will it fire?Fusing and slumping to 1,700°F on a 15-inch shelf — plates, tiles, panels, jewellery runs, small slumped bowls. The 6-inch chamber height is the limit on how deep a mould you can use. It is not a casting kiln and it will not fire clay.
What actually comes in the crate?Jen-Ken does not publish a crate contents list for every model, so we do not want to guess. Call or email us and we will confirm exactly what ships with this kiln — stand, furniture, shelf — before you order.
How long until it ships?Jen-Ken builds to order in Lakeland, Florida. Their own guidance is that kilns can take several weeks to months depending on the production queue. Call us and we will get you the current estimate before you commit.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, so the factory warranty applies exactly as it would buying direct. Jen-Ken gives brick kilns two years. Keep your proof of purchase.
Outgrown an 11-inch kiln? We are authorized Jen-Ken dealers based in Georgia. Tell us what you are making and what power you have available, and we will tell you straight whether this is the right kiln — including when a cheaper one would do.

Common questions about this kiln

Still stuck? Call or text (470) 264-3563 and talk it through with a real person.

Is freight delivery included in the price?

No. Kiln prices do not include freight, and we do not quietly build it into the product price. Freight is charged at a flat rate based on your delivery address and is shown at checkout. Liftgate service is included when it is needed, and standard delivery is curbside. You can estimate your delivered cost with the ZIP code tool above the Add to Cart button.

Can I return this kiln if it is not right?

Return requests can be submitted within 30 days of delivery. The kiln needs to be in its original packaging, in new and resellable condition, and approved before it is sent back. A restocking fee may apply. Completing the manufacturer's recommended first test firing does not by itself make a kiln non-returnable, so you can confirm it works before you commit. Full terms are on our Returns page.

What electrical supply do I need for this kiln?

The Specifications tab on this page lists this model's voltage, amperage, required breaker size and NEMA plug configuration. Most 240V kilns need their own dedicated circuit fitted by a licensed electrician, while many 120V models run from a standard household outlet. If you are unsure what your space can support, call or text (470) 264-3563 before ordering.

Does this kiln come with a warranty?

Yes. This kiln carries the Jen-Ken manufacturer warranty. Coverage length, what is included and any registration deadline are listed in the Specifications tab on this page. We are an authorized Jen-Ken dealer, which is a condition of warranty coverage on most kiln brands.

What comes with the kiln, and what do I need to buy separately?

The What's Included tab on this page lists exactly what ships with this kiln. Most kilns need shelves, posts and kiln wash before your first firing, and these are not always included. A vent is recommended for indoor installations. Any add-ons available for this model are shown above the Add to Cart button.
