Ships in 12-15 weeks · freight to your door

Olympic Kilns builds most kilns to order once your order is placed, so plan on about 12-15 weeks before it leaves the factory. We email your confirmed ship date and tracking.

  • The freight carrier calls you to book a delivery window.
  • Delivery is curbside with a liftgate. Have a helper or hand truck to move it inside.
  • Check the crate before you sign. Note any damage on the receipt and send us photos.

Enter your ZIP in "See your delivered price" above the Add to cart button to see freight and your delivered total.

Authorized Olympic dealer · full factory warranty

Brand new and shipped direct from Olympic Kilns, so it carries Olympic's full factory warranty. If something goes wrong, call us and we handle the claim with the factory for you.

Warranty terms are in the Warranty and support section below.

Returns: request within 15 days, unused

Because kilns are heavy and often built to order, returns are limited, so we'd rather help you pick the right one up front:

  • Ask within 15 days of purchase or 2 days after delivery, whichever comes first. We issue a return authorization (RA).
  • It must be new, unused (beyond the factory test fire) and in its original packaging.
  • A restocking fee of at least 25% applies, up to 50% on custom, 3-phase or made-to-order units. Return freight is on the buyer unless we made an error.
  • Damaged in transit? Note it on the delivery receipt, send us photos and we'll help with the freight claim.

Not included: shelves, posts and kiln wash (sold separately). Plugs into a standard 120V outlet on a 20-amp circuit.

Most 240V kilns need their own circuit and the matching outlet, installed by an electrician. Homes are usually 240V; schools and commercial buildings are often 208V, so pick the voltage that matches your panel.

Send us a photo of your breaker panel or outlet and we'll confirm before your kiln is built: 470-264-3563 (call or text).

Overview

Olympic Kilns · Electric Kiln · Test Kiln Olympic HB64E Electric Test Kiln Model HB64E · 120 Volt · 6.5″ W × 6.5″ H × 4.5″ D · 0.11 cu ft · Cone 10 / 2350°F The HB64E is a 120-volt test kiln designed for small-scale clay and glaze testing, jewelry enameling, and glass fusing applications. With its compact 6.5-inch square chamber and plug-in convenience, this desktop kiln fires to Cone 10 without requiring dedicated electrical wiring. Its small footprint and standard household voltage make it ideal for studios, classrooms, or home workshops where space and electrical capacity are limited.

Chamber Size6.5″ W × 6.5″ H × 4.5″ D
Voltage120V (standard outlet)
Capacity0.11 cubic feet
What’s included
The kiln, with its elements installedThe chamber arrives with Olympic's heavy gauge coiled elements already set in the brick and wired to the control panel. Olympic's manual puts this kiln in its ready-to-fire-on-arrival list, so there is nothing to stack or bolt together.
Bartlett Spark touchscreen controller and Type K thermocoupleOlympic prices the HB64E, HB84E and HotBox E on the Spark row only, with no KilnStar or Genesis option, so the Spark mini touchscreen is what ships on this model. It arrives installed and wired with one Type K thermocouple and a pilot indicator light.
Observation plugsHollow ceramic peephole plugs ship with the kiln. Olympic publishes no count for any model, in its manuals or on its site, so we will not print a number here. Ask and we will confirm yours with the factory. Replacements are a stock part.
The operating manual and a one-year warrantyOlympic's printed operating manual travels with the kiln. Olympic's limited warranty runs two years, cut to one year on Kiln-Sitter models and on any kiln rated at cone 10. This one is rated to cone 10, so one year. Register with Olympic within 30 days of delivery and keep your invoice.
A fitted cord and plug, 120VIt runs from an ordinary 120V circuit on a cord and plug fitted at the factory. Olympic's plug configuration row gives NEMA 5-15, 5-20 or L5-30 depending on the model's amperage, so we confirm the exact receptacle with you before the order goes in.
Not included: collars, furniture and accessoriesThe blank collar and the bead collar are paid options and both drop the kiln's maximum temperature to 2000°F, so order them knowing that. No kiln furniture ships with it, and stilts, gloves, kiln wash and a pyrometer are separate items.

Common questions
Can I plug this into a standard wall outlet?
The HB64E requires a 120-volt, 20-amp dedicated circuit with a grounded outlet. While it uses standard household voltage, most standard outlets are only 15-amp circuits. You may need an electrician to install a dedicated 20-amp circuit, or verify that an existing outlet meets the amperage requirement. Never use an extension cord or share the circuit with other appliances.
What can I fire in a kiln this size?
The HB64E is designed for testing clay bodies and glazes, small jewelry pieces, glass fusing samples, and enameling work. The 6.5-inch square chamber accommodates multiple test tiles, small pendants, earrings, or glass sample pieces in a single firing. This is not a production kiln—it's specifically built for testing, sampling, and small decorative work where Cone 10 capability is needed.
Does this kiln include furniture (shelves and posts)?
No, kiln furniture is sold separately. Due to the small chamber size, Olympic offers custom-sized furniture kits designed specifically for the HB64E dimensions. These kits include appropriately sized shelves, posts, and stilts that maximize the usable space for test tiles and small pieces.
How do I register my warranty?
Olympic Kilns requires warranty registration within 30 days of delivery. You can register online at the Olympic Kilns website using your kiln serial number and purchase information. Warranty coverage is only valid when the kiln is purchased through an authorized dealer like Peach State Pottery, and registration must be completed within the 30-day window.
How long does a typical firing take in this kiln?
Firing times vary based on target temperature and program settings, but typical Cone 10 firings range from 8 to 12 hours. The small chamber size and 1800-watt element allow relatively quick heating compared to larger kilns, but reaching high temperatures still requires gradual heating to prevent thermal shock to test pieces and ensure even heat distribution.
Not sure if the HB64E is the right kiln for your space? Our team can help you evaluate electrical requirements, determine if a test kiln meets your production needs, and recommend the right accessories for your studio workflow.
