Common questions
Do I need an electrician to install this kiln?Yes. The FL12E requires a dedicated 48-amp circuit at 240V or 208V, and installation must comply with local electrical codes. A licensed electrician should evaluate your electrical panel capacity, run the appropriate gauge wire, and install the proper breaker. The kiln comes with its own breaker box that connects to your building's dedicated circuit.
What comes in the furniture kit and how much can I load? The furniture kit includes 4 layers of kiln shelves sized for this 24" x 24" chamber, assorted posts to create the shelf configurations you need, and a 5 lb bag of kiln wash. The 12 cubic foot chamber and front-loading design accommodate large production loads, tall sculptures, and stacks of functional ware.
How much production work can this kiln handle? The FL12E is built for frequent firing in school and small production pottery environments. Its 12 cubic feet of space, heavy-duty welded frame, and cone 10 capability make it ideal for studios firing multiple times per week. With proper maintenance and a solid state relay, this kiln can handle decades of consistent production use.
Should I add a solid state relay?Absolutely, especially for production-scale use. The solid state relay provides tighter temperature control for more consistent results, extends element life significantly, reduces your electric bill, and eliminates the mechanical wear that eventually requires relay replacement. For a kiln at this investment level being fired frequently, the solid state relay pays for itself.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Olympic Kilns dealer. Your one-year warranty is fully valid and you have direct access to Olympic’s factory support team. Buying from an unauthorized seller or the used market can void your warranty entirely.
Not sure if the FL12E is right for your production needs? We’re authorized Olympic Kilns dealers based in Atlanta. Call, email, or chat — we’ll give you a straight answer about electrical requirements, sizing, and accessories before you spend a dollar.

  • The date the issue was discovered
  • The place of purchase

  • Improper installation.
  • Use of electrical voltages different from those specified for the kiln.

Freight Damage Is Not Warranty Damage

Damage that occurs during shipping or delivery is not treated as a manufacturing warranty defect. Freight damage must be documented at delivery and handled through the freight claim process.

Please inspect your shipment carefully before signing for delivery. Take photos or video of the packaging before unpacking and continue documenting the unpacking process, especially if you notice any visible damage.

Warranty Claim Process

If you believe your Olympic kiln has a warranty-related issue, contact Peach State Pottery with your order information and a description of the issue. We will help review the situation and assist with the next steps.

If the issue is not resolved through the retailer, Olympic Kilns must be contacted in writing within six (6) days of the first indication of the defect.

Olympic Kilns will determine which parts appear to require repair and will provide instructions for shipment when needed.

Customer Responsibilities

For warranty service, the customer may be responsible for dismantling, packaging, and shipping only the parts requested by Olympic Kilns.

  • Requested parts must be packaged carefully and shipped freight prepaid.
  • The customer is responsible for dismantling and reinstalling parts.
  • The customer is responsible for packaging and shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
  • Only the parts requested by Olympic Kilns should be shipped.

If an entire kiln is returned for warranty repair, the customer is responsible for prepaying the cost of packaging and shipping both to and from the factory.

Repair, Replacement, or Refund

If Olympic Kilns determines that the issue is due to a manufacturing defect, Olympic Kilns will repair, replace, or refund as appropriate within thirty (30) days.

Repaired or replacement parts will be shipped back to the customer at Olympic Kilns’ cost using the customer’s package. The customer is responsible for reinstalling the parts.

Non-Warranty Repairs

If the parts sent to Olympic Kilns require repair or replacement for a reason not covered by the warranty, no work will be performed until the customer authorizes the work and makes payment arrangements.

Limits of Warranty Coverage

Olympic Kilns shall not be liable for injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of its products.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply to every customer. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

To activate warranty coverage, your Olympic Kilns purchase must be registered. Keep your proof of purchase, order information, and any product documentation for your records.

Reporting a Defect

Defects must be reported in writing within six (6) days of discovery. Your written notice should include:

  • The date the issue was discovered
  • The place of purchase
  • Proof of purchase
  • A description of the defect
  • Photos or videos, if available

Warranty Exclusions

The Olympic Kilns warranty does not cover damage or issues caused by:

  • Kilns damaged or altered after leaving the factory.
  • Damage caused by reduction firing or salt firing.
  • Over-firing or exceeding the maximum cone or temperature rating.
  • Improper installation.
  • Use of electrical voltages different from those specified for the kiln.
  • Firing materials other than ceramics and glass.
  • Thermocouples or kiln furniture.
