Ships in 12-15 weeks · freight to your door

Olympic Kilns builds most kilns to order once your order is placed, so plan on about 12-15 weeks before it leaves the factory. We email your confirmed ship date and tracking.

  • The freight carrier calls you to book a delivery window.
  • Delivery is curbside with a liftgate. Have a helper or hand truck to move it inside.
  • Check the crate before you sign. Note any damage on the receipt and send us photos.

Enter your ZIP in "See your delivered price" above the Add to cart button to see freight and your delivered total.

Authorized Olympic dealer · full factory warranty

Brand new and shipped direct from Olympic Kilns, so it carries Olympic's full factory warranty. If something goes wrong, call us and we handle the claim with the factory for you.

Warranty terms are in the Warranty and support section below.

Returns: request within 15 days, unused

Because kilns are heavy and often built to order, returns are limited, so we'd rather help you pick the right one up front:

  • Ask within 15 days of purchase or 2 days after delivery, whichever comes first. We issue a return authorization (RA).
  • It must be new, unused (beyond the factory test fire) and in its original packaging.
  • A restocking fee of at least 25% applies, up to 50% on custom, 3-phase or made-to-order units. Return freight is on the buyer unless we made an error.
  • Damaged in transit? Note it on the delivery receipt, send us photos and we'll help with the freight claim.

Will it work in my space? Power check

Most 240V kilns need their own circuit and the matching outlet, installed by an electrician. Homes are usually 240V; schools and commercial buildings are often 208V, so pick the voltage that matches your panel.

Send us a photo of your breaker panel or outlet and we'll confirm before your kiln is built: 470-264-3563 (call or text).

Overview

Olympic Kilns · Electric Kiln · 120V Series Olympic Kilns 1214-120E Electric Kiln 1214-120E · 120V · 11.25″ W × 13.5″ D · 0.86 cu ft · Cone 4 / 2100°F The 1214-120E is a Cone 4, 120V version of Olympic's popular 1214 chamber — a straightforward option for potters firing low- to mid-fire clay bodies and glazes who don't need Cone 10 capability or a dedicated 240V circuit. It plugs into a standard heavy-duty household outlet and ships with the KilnStar digital controller.
Max TemperatureCone 4 / 2100°F
Firing Chamber11.25″ W × 13.5″ D / 0.86 cu ft
Voltage120V single-phase
Breaker Required20 amp
What’s included
The kiln, with its elements installedThe chamber arrives with Olympic's heavy gauge coiled elements already set in the brick and wired to the control panel. Olympic's manual puts this kiln in its ready-to-fire-on-arrival list, so there is nothing to stack or bolt together.
Bartlett KilnStar controller, fitted and wiredThe KilnStar is the standard controller on this kiln and it is installed and wired at the factory. The Genesis touchscreen is a paid upgrade taken at order time, and Olympic's 2026 range no longer offers the RTC-1000, Kiln Sitter, 3-key or V6-CF, so nothing legacy ships here.
One Type K thermocouple and the pilot lightA single Type K thermocouple comes installed and wired to the controller. The control panel also carries a pilot indicator light that comes on whenever the kiln is live. Extra thermocouples only arrive with the 2-zone or 3-zone option, and a Type S is a paid substitution.
The stand it sits onOlympic's manual is explicit: “Your kiln must be fired only on the metal stand provided.” The stand ships with the kiln. Olympic sells no stand aftermarket. It does not publish the height or form for this model, so we confirm yours before the order goes in.
Observation plugsHollow ceramic peephole plugs ship with the kiln. Olympic publishes no count for any model, in its manuals or on its site, so we will not print a number here. Ask and we will confirm yours with the factory. Replacements are a stock part.
The operating manual and a two-year warrantyOlympic's printed operating manual travels with the kiln. Olympic's limited warranty runs two years and drops to one year only on Kiln-Sitter models and kilns rated at cone 10. This one is not rated at cone 10, so the full two years apply. Register with Olympic within 30 days of delivery.
A fitted cord and plug, 120VIt runs from an ordinary 120V circuit on a cord and plug fitted at the factory. Olympic's plug configuration row gives NEMA 5-15, 5-20 or L5-30 depending on the model's amperage, so we confirm the exact receptacle with you before the order goes in.
Not included: furniture, vent and hookupNo kiln furniture. Every Olympic line has its own separately priced furniture kit and shelves and posts are priced one by one. The VentMaster downdraft vent, stilts, gloves, tongs, kiln wash and a pyrometer are all separate items, and no receptacle, breaker, wire or disconnect ships with the kiln.

Common questions
Do I need an electrician to install this kiln?
Yes. The 1214-120E requires a dedicated 20-amp circuit (16 amps) with a NEMA 5-20 receptacle, installed by a licensed electrician according to local electrical codes. Installation by anyone other than a qualified electrician may void your warranty and create serious safety hazards.
What's the difference between this and the 1214-120HE?
Both share the same 11.25″ × 13.5″ chamber and 120V power, but the 1214-120E tops out at Cone 4 while the 1214-120HE ("HE" for High-fire Electric) reaches Cone 10. Choose the 120E if your glazes and clay bodies are all low- to mid-fire and you'd rather save on the price difference.
Is Cone 4 hot enough for typical earthenware and mid-fire work?
Yes. Cone 4 (2100°F) comfortably covers earthenware and most mid-fire stoneware glazes. If you ever plan to fire true high-fire stoneware or porcelain glazes formulated for Cone 6-10, you'll want the HE version instead.
Does this kiln come with shelves and posts?
No. Kiln furniture is sold separately because different users have different needs based on the work they're firing. We recommend ordering a furniture kit sized for the 11.25″ × 13.5″ chamber when you purchase the kiln.
How do I register my warranty?
Register your kiln at the Olympic Kilns website within 30 days of delivery. You'll need your serial number (located on the control panel label), purchase date, and proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. Peach State Pottery can assist with registration if needed.
