Common questions Can this kiln really fire to Cone 10 on a standard 120-volt outlet? Yes. The "HE" designation stands for High Efficiency, meaning Olympic engineered this kiln with 3-inch brick and optimized element design to reach Cone 10 / 2350°F on 120 volts. It requires a dedicated 20-amp circuit with 12 AWG wiring (same as kitchen appliances), but uses a standard 3-prong plug. Firing times will be longer than 240V kilns due to lower wattage, typically 12–16 hours to Cone 10 depending on load density. What does "Quick-Ship" mean for this model? This kiln ships from Peach State Pottery's dealer stock, not from the Olympic factory. Most Olympic kilns have an 8–12 week lead time as they're built to order. Quick-ship models are in-stock and typically ship within 3–5 business days of order placement, arriving 1–2 weeks after that depending on your location. Is the furniture kit included with this kiln or sold separately? The furniture kit is included with this model. It contains kiln shelves and posts sized for the 11.25″ chamber. Standard Olympic kilns do not include furniture, so this package offers immediate savings and convenience. How do I register the warranty? Register your kiln at Olympic's website within 30 days of delivery. You'll need your serial number (located on the data plate), purchase date, and dealer information. Warranty is valid only on kilns purchased through authorized Olympic dealers like Peach State Pottery. What size work can I fire in an 11.25″ chamber? The 11.25″ diameter accommodates plates up to 10.5″, bowls up to 10″ wide, and vessels up to 12–13″ tall (depending on shelf configuration). This is an ideal size for hobbyists, apartment studios, small production runs, test firing, and educational settings where 240V power isn't available. Not sure if the Olympic 1214-120HE is the right kiln for your space? Our team can help you compare models, plan electrical requirements, and coordinate quick delivery to Atlanta and surrounding areas. Talk to an expert →
