Do I need an electrician to install this kiln?Yes. The FL8E requires a dedicated 240V or 208V circuit at 48 amps, which must be installed by a licensed electrician following local electrical codes. The kiln includes its own breaker box, but you'll need proper wiring from your main panel to the kiln location.
What comes in the furniture kit and do I need one?The furniture kit includes 4 layers of kiln shelving, assorted posts for stacking, and a 5 lb bag of kiln wash. You'll need shelves and posts to fire anything in this kiln, so we strongly recommend ordering a furniture kit with your kiln to avoid separate shipping costs later.
How much production work can this kiln handle?With 8 cubic feet of chamber space, the FL8E can handle significant production volume—ideal for small pottery businesses, busy community studios, or educational programs with daily firing schedules. The heavy-duty construction and dedicated breaker box make it well-suited for continuous use.
