The FL20E is Olympic's largest front-loading electric kiln, delivering 20 cubic feet of usable firing chamber for production studios, universities, and commercial operations. Common questions
What electrical service does the FL20E require?
The 240V single-phase model requires a dedicated 150-amp circuit with appropriate wire gauge (typically #1 AWG copper). The 208V three-phase version requires three-phase service with matching amperage. You'll need a licensed electrician to install the circuit and confirm your facility has adequate service capacity for this 26+ kW kiln. Does this kiln include furniture or shelves?
No. Kiln furniture is sold separately because every studio has different loading needs. The FL20E requires custom furniture sized for its 28″ × 28″ × 45″ chamber. We can help you configure a furniture kit with the appropriate shelf sizes, post heights, and quantities based on your typical work and firing schedule.
Is ventilation required for the FL20E?
While not legally required in all jurisdictions, ventilation is strongly recommended for any production kiln of this size. The Orton AutoVent downdraft system removes combustion gases, moisture, and fumes during bisque and glaze firings, improving studio air quality and firing results. Some insurance policies and building codes may require ventilation for commercial kilns.
What is the delivery and installation process?
The FL20E ships fully assembled on a pallet at approximately 2,800 lbs. Freight delivery is curbside only — you'll need rigging equipment (forklift, pallet jack, or crane) to move it into your studio. The kiln requires professional electrical installation by a licensed electrician. Peach State Pottery can coordinate delivery timing and provide installation support documentation.
How do I register the warranty?
Olympic requires warranty registration within 30 days of delivery. After your kiln arrives, complete the registration form on Olympic's website with your serial number, purchase date, and dealer information. Warranty is valid only for kilns purchased through authorized dealers like Peach State Pottery and covers manufacturing defects for one year from delivery date.
