Common questions
What electrical service does the GF15E require?
This kiln requires professional electrical installation by a licensed electrician. It's available in 240V single-phase or 208V three-phase configurations depending on your facility's power availability. Due to the high amperage draw of a 15 cubic foot chamber, you'll need dedicated circuit breakers and appropriately sized wire — contact us for exact electrical specifications for your voltage choice. Most production studios opt for three-phase 208V for more balanced power distribution and lower operating costs.
What size glass work can I fit in this kiln?
The 60″ × 36″ interior accommodates multiple full sheets of standard glass (up to 48″ × 96″ when positioned diagonally) or several smaller projects fired simultaneously. The 12-inch height allows for thick glass casting, multiple-layer fusing, and tall slumping molds. This capacity makes the GF15E ideal for architectural panels, large tabletops, multiple production runs, and commercial glass studio operations.
Do I need to purchase kiln furniture separately?
Yes, kiln shelves, posts, and fiber paper are sold separately to allow you to configure the furniture for your specific glass applications. We recommend custom-sized shelves for the GF15E's large chamber — standard furniture kits won't fit this professional-scale kiln. Contact us to specify shelf dimensions, quantities, and accessories for fusing versus slumping work.
Can this kiln handle full annealing cycles for thick glass?
Absolutely. The 3-inch brick insulation and digital controller provide the precise, slow cooling required for proper annealing of thick cast glass and multi-layer fused pieces. The large thermal mass of the chamber maintains stable temperatures during extended soak periods, and the optional multi-zone control compensates for temperature variations across the wide shelf span. Program extended annealing cycles of 24+ hours for architectural-thickness work.
How is Olympic's warranty activated?
Register your kiln with Olympic Kilns within 30 days of delivery to activate the one-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty is valid only on kilns purchased through authorized Olympic dealers like Peach State Pottery. Keep your purchase receipt and complete the registration form on Olympic's website immediately after installation.

Warranty Registration Required

To activate warranty coverage, your Olympic Kilns purchase must be registered. Keep your proof of purchase, order information, and any product documentation for your records.

Freight Damage Is Not Warranty Damage

Damage that occurs during shipping or delivery is not treated as a manufacturing warranty defect. Freight damage must be documented at delivery and handled through the freight claim process.

Please inspect your shipment carefully before signing for delivery. Take photos or video of the packaging before unpacking and continue documenting the unpacking process, especially if you notice any visible damage.

Warranty Claim Process

If you believe your Olympic kiln has a warranty-related issue, contact Peach State Pottery with your order information and a description of the issue. We will help review the situation and assist with the next steps.

If the issue is not resolved through the retailer, Olympic Kilns must be contacted in writing within six (6) days of the first indication of the defect.

Olympic Kilns will determine which parts appear to require repair and will provide instructions for shipment when needed.

Customer Responsibilities

For warranty service, the customer may be responsible for dismantling, packaging, and shipping only the parts requested by Olympic Kilns.

  • Requested parts must be packaged carefully and shipped freight prepaid.
  • The customer is responsible for dismantling and reinstalling parts.
  • The customer is responsible for packaging and shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
  • Only the parts requested by Olympic Kilns should be shipped.

If an entire kiln is returned for warranty repair, the customer is responsible for prepaying the cost of packaging and shipping both to and from the factory.

Repair, Replacement, or Refund

If Olympic Kilns determines that the issue is due to a manufacturing defect, Olympic Kilns will repair, replace, or refund as appropriate within thirty (30) days.

Repaired or replacement parts will be shipped back to the customer at Olympic Kilns’ cost using the customer’s package. The customer is responsible for reinstalling the parts.

Non-Warranty Repairs

If the parts sent to Olympic Kilns require repair or replacement for a reason not covered by the warranty, no work will be performed until the customer authorizes the work and makes payment arrangements.

Limits of Warranty Coverage

Olympic Kilns shall not be liable for injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of its products.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply to every customer. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

What the Warranty Covers

Olympic Kilns warranty coverage applies to defects in manufacturing for eligible kilns used for ceramics, pottery, and glass.

If a covered manufacturing defect is confirmed, Olympic Kilns may repair, replace, or refund the affected part or product as appropriate.

Warranty Registration Required

To activate warranty coverage, your Olympic Kilns purchase must be registered. Keep your proof of purchase, order information, and any product documentation for your records.

Reporting a Defect

Defects must be reported in writing within six (6) days of discovery. Your written notice should include:

  • The date the issue was discovered
  • The place of purchase
  • Proof of purchase
  • A description of the defect
  • Photos or videos, if available

Warranty Exclusions

The Olympic Kilns warranty does not cover damage or issues caused by:

  • Kilns damaged or altered after leaving the factory.
  • Damage caused by reduction firing or salt firing.
  • Over-firing or exceeding the maximum cone or temperature rating.
  • Improper installation.
  • Use of electrical voltages different from those specified for the kiln.
  • Firing materials other than ceramics and glass.
  • Thermocouples or kiln furniture.
