Common questions
What size pieces can I fire in the RM II 2322?With a 23.5" diameter and 22" depth, you can fire pieces up to about 21" wide and 20" tall, accounting for shelf clearance. The wide diameter is ideal for firing multiple medium pieces or platters, while the moderate depth keeps everything within easy reach for safe loading.
Do I need 208V or 240V for this kiln?Either voltage will work, but the kiln must be hardwired by a licensed electrician. Your choice depends on what's available in your studio. 240V is more common in residential settings, while 208V is typical in commercial or educational buildings. We can help you determine the best option during purchase.
Is the RM II 2322 suitable for production work?Absolutely. The RM II series is designed as a workhorse for production studios, educational programs, and professional ceramicists. The 5.8 cubic foot capacity, Quiet Drive relay for consistent firings, and durable construction make it ideal for frequent use. Many production potters run this model multiple times per week for years.
What's the difference between the included controller options? The base model typically includes either the Rampmaster II or Set-Pro controller, which are reliable but basic digital controllers. We strongly recommend upgrading to the TAP Touchscreen for remote monitoring and unlimited programming, or the Genesis Spark for touchscreen control at a lower price point. Both upgrades offer significantly more features and ease of use.
