Common questions
Is this kiln for ceramics or glass? The 1818FLE's wide, shallow chamber and front-loading design make it especially well suited to glass fusing and slumping, though it can also be used for low-fire ceramic work up to Cone 8. If you're firing tall ceramic pieces, a top-loading stackable model is usually a better fit.
Should I add the quartz viewing window? The viewing window is popular for glass work since you can watch fusing or slumping happen in real time without opening the door and losing heat. Keep in mind it caps maximum firing temperature at 1700°F, so skip it if you need to fire closer to this kiln's full Cone 8 / 2300°F range.
Do I need an electrician to install this kiln? Yes. The 1818FLE runs on 240V or 208V and requires a dedicated circuit. Most home studios don't have this pre-installed. A licensed electrician can typically add the circuit in a few hours — we're happy to send the spec sheet to your electrician directly.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Olympic Kilns dealer. Your two-year warranty is fully valid and you have direct access to Olympic's factory support team. Buying from an unauthorized seller or the used market can void your warranty entirely.
Not sure if the 1818FLE is the right kiln for your work? We’re authorized Olympic Kilns dealers based in Atlanta. Call, email, or chat — we’ll give you a straight answer about sizing, the viewing window option, and accessories before you spend a dollar.

  • The date the issue was discovered
  • The place of purchase

  • Improper installation.

Freight Damage Is Not Warranty Damage

Damage that occurs during shipping or delivery is not treated as a manufacturing warranty defect. Freight damage must be documented at delivery and handled through the freight claim process.

Please inspect your shipment carefully before signing for delivery. Take photos or video of the packaging before unpacking and continue documenting the unpacking process, especially if you notice any visible damage.

Warranty Claim Process

If you believe your Olympic kiln has a warranty-related issue, contact Peach State Pottery with your order information and a description of the issue. We will help review the situation and assist with the next steps.

If the issue is not resolved through the retailer, Olympic Kilns must be contacted in writing within six (6) days of the first indication of the defect.

Olympic Kilns will determine which parts appear to require repair and will provide instructions for shipment when needed.

Customer Responsibilities

For warranty service, the customer may be responsible for dismantling, packaging, and shipping only the parts requested by Olympic Kilns.

  • Requested parts must be packaged carefully and shipped freight prepaid.
  • The customer is responsible for dismantling and reinstalling parts.
  • The customer is responsible for packaging and shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
  • Only the parts requested by Olympic Kilns should be shipped.

If an entire kiln is returned for warranty repair, the customer is responsible for prepaying the cost of packaging and shipping both to and from the factory.

Repair, Replacement, or Refund

If Olympic Kilns determines that the issue is due to a manufacturing defect, Olympic Kilns will repair, replace, or refund as appropriate within thirty (30) days.

Repaired or replacement parts will be shipped back to the customer at Olympic Kilns’ cost using the customer’s package. The customer is responsible for reinstalling the parts.

Non-Warranty Repairs

If the parts sent to Olympic Kilns require repair or replacement for a reason not covered by the warranty, no work will be performed until the customer authorizes the work and makes payment arrangements.

Limits of Warranty Coverage

Olympic Kilns shall not be liable for injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of its products.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply to every customer. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
