Common questions
What's the advantage of the Dual Access Design for glass work?Front access lets you build projects directly on the shelf and close the chamber horizontally, perfect for delicate glass placement and using manipulation tools like rakes and paddles. Top access provides the traditional view for monitoring and is great for quick loading of simple projects. Having both options in one kiln gives you maximum flexibility for different techniques.
Should I upgrade to the Quiet Drive Solid State Relay?Yes, especially for glass work. The Quiet Drive fires up to 60 times per second versus 10 for mechanical relays, giving you incredibly tight temperature control critical for successful fusing and slumping. It also extends element life through zero-crossing technology and never needs replacement since it has no moving parts. The investment pays for itself in element longevity and firing consistency.
Can this kiln handle both fusing and slumping?Absolutely. The Studio Pro 14 reaches 1700°F, which covers all standard glass fusing temperatures (1400-1500°F) and slumping temperatures (1200-1300°F). The 13" × 13" shelf accommodates most beginner and intermediate projects, and the dual access design makes it easy to position slumping molds and monitor your work.
What electrical setup do I need? The Studio Pro 14 requires a dedicated 240V, 30-amp circuit. This is a standard electrical setup similar to an electric dryer. You'll need to hire a licensed electrician to install the proper outlet if you don't already have one in your studio space. Do not attempt to run this kiln on 120V household circuits.
Does buying from Peach State Pottery affect my warranty? No. We are an authorized Evenheat dealer. Your two-year warranty is fully valid and you have direct access to Evenheat’s support team. Buying from an unauthorized seller can void your warranty entirely.
