Common questions What electrical work is required for the 2327HE? This kiln requires a dedicated 240-volt, 60-amp circuit with 6 AWG copper wire. The kiln draws 48 amps at full power, so a 60-amp breaker provides the required 125% safety margin per National Electric Code. Most installations require hardwiring rather than a plug connection due to amperage. Plan for approximately $800–$1,500 in electrician costs depending on distance from your electrical panel and local labor rates. Verify your main panel has capacity for an additional 60-amp double-pole breaker before ordering. Is the furniture kit included sufficient for most firings? Yes, the Freedom Package furniture kit includes multiple full shelves and assorted posts sized for the 23.375-inch chamber diameter. This provides flexible shelf configurations for most ceramic work. Studios firing very tall pieces or running production loads may benefit from purchasing additional posts in varied heights to maximize loading efficiency. Replacement shelves are available individually as they wear over time. Can I add or remove sections from this stackable kiln? Yes, Olympic's stackable design allows you to adjust chamber depth by adding or removing 9-inch ring sections. The 2327HE ships as a 27-inch deep configuration (three 9-inch sections). You can reduce it to 18 inches for smaller loads or expand it to 36 inches for larger work. Each configuration change requires element adjustment and potential electrical modifications, so consult with Olympic or Peach State Pottery before modifying. Additional sections are sold separately. What's the difference between the standard 2327HE and this Freedom Package? The Freedom Package includes approximately $1,400 in essential upgrades bundled at a discounted price: Genesis touchscreen controller (upgrade from standard controller), solid-state relay for precise temperature control and quieter operation, and a complete furniture kit. Purchasing these items separately would cost significantly more. This package is designed for studios that want a production-ready kiln system out of the box without piecemeal upgrades. How does the warranty registration work? Olympic requires warranty registration within 30 days of delivery. You'll register directly with Olympic Kilns using your invoice from Peach State Pottery as proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. The one-year limited warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship but does not cover wear items like elements, thermocouples, or firebrick deterioration from normal use. Warranty is void if purchased from unauthorized sellers or if installation does not meet electrical code requirements. Not sure if the 2327HE Freedom Package is the right kiln for your space? Our team can verify electrical compatibility, compare chamber sizes, and discuss ventilation requirements for your studio. Talk to an expert →
