The Vitri Barrel is Jen-Ken's biggest and deepest — 11 inches across and 9 deep — with a double layer of elements so the whole column of glass reaches flow temperature together instead of going soft at the top while the bottom is still stiff. That is the difference between a pull that runs and one that stops. It reaches 2,150°F, plugs into a normal wall outlet, and weighs 50 lbs. With Jen-Ken's optional stand, shelf and solid bottom insert it converts into a small fusing, casting and low-fire ceramic kiln — but as sold, with the hole in the floor, it is a vitrigraph kiln. It is a hot, physical, standing-up process, and the reason the Vitri Barrel is a barrel is that the glass needs depth and even heat rather than shelf area.

What electrical circuit does it need?120V single phase, a 15-amp draw and 1,800 watts on an ordinary NEMA 5-15R outlet, with a 15-amp breaker. Jen-Ken publishes no circuit wire gauge for this model at all — the spec table simply has no row for it — so we have omitted that row rather than borrow a figure from a sibling. One thing to be honest about: 15 amps continuous on a 15-amp breaker leaves nothing spare. The 125% continuous-load rule puts it at 18.75 amps, so we would put it on a dedicated 20-amp circuit with #12 wire, which is what Jen-Ken recommends on their other 15-amp 120V kilns.
